So, when the cat woke me up at the crack of dawn this morning, I thought it was Sunday :sunny: . Then I thought, no I worked yesterday.....it must be SATURDAY! Then reality set in and I got very sad :guilty: . THEN I realized there are no managers at work today AND it's CHAT NIGHT! :cheer2: A veritable roller-coaster of emotions in about 5 seconds!

Jeanna.. I can only assume what your experience was like with regard to the different type hotels.

Let me say that staying at the value resort is my interruptation of camping. They are motels with limited room service. I did enjoy Pop Century and would consider that resort again, but I will pass on the other 3.

I enjoyed the AKL and the whole atmosphere. I enjoyed that all the rooms are connected to the lobby. I enjoyed the GF, but would have liked it if all the rooms were connected to the lobby.

I have not stayed at the Contemporary, ut that is my plan on the next visit. I want a room where I can look out the door and see the monorail come through. My TA keeps trying to talk me out of it. She thinks I would not enjoy it.

Hi guys! Just got back yesterday from 8 wonderful days at WDW. Mini report:

Crowds were really LOW until this past weekend...the EE preview must have pulled in a lot of people for the weekend. :crowded:

I got the chance to ride EE on Thursday. It was fun, well-themed, but seemed very short...not worth waiting more than 30 minutes for, IMO. I'll fastpass it from now on most likely. I expected it to possibly become my favorite WDW ride, but it didn't. ToT still holds at #1 hands down.

We used Magical Express (for the third time) and it went well for us, no problems at all. We were checking in at BWV approximately 70 minutes after our plane touched down, after stopping at CBR first. On the return we were picked up at AKL about 2 hours 45 minutes before our flight and stopped at Pop to pick up on the way. Southwest is the second drop off at the airport, so we were checking our luggage about 2 hours before flight time. :thumbsup2

Security lines were horrible at MCO on Monday morning...really horrible. :headache:

I know a lot of people absolutely love BWV. I didn't. I didn't totally dislike it, but I didn't love it. We moved to AKL on Friday. It was our second time there and I can say that I do really LOVE the AKL. Next trip it will be a struggle to choose between trying somewhere new or going back to AKL. I doubt I'd ever do a split stay again, too much hassle packing and repacking for me.

Weather was good. We had temps in the 70's almost every day, with clouds and sun, no rain until we were leaving Monday morning. Most nights were cool, as expected for this time of year, but very comfortable overall. :sunny:

We purchased the new PhotoPass PhotoCD and thought it was well worth it for the number of photos we had taken...148! I'd say that about 75% of our PhotoPass photos are really good, worth having printed.

Now I'm sitting here at home shivering, LOL. Today's forecast high...37 with snow flurries. (Sunday at WDW was around 77 and we went to Blizzard Beach...wahhhh! What a difference!)

Bill McKenna is the man who wrote the quote, I've heard it several different ways... here is the original (which I need to update) because what is the point of having a quote if it's wrong...right?

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving
>> safely in one pretty and well preserved piece, but to slide across
>> the finish line broadside, thoroughly used up, worn out, leaking oil, and
>> shouting GERONIMO!!! -- Bill McKenna

I believe he was a racecar driver or motorcross... I'll have to look it up!

;)

Welcome SCHWAJA3 - looking forward to a wonderful trip - I'm glad your coming along - I have a special spot in my heart for "Jacks" - my dog's name is Jack -----Jack Sparrow, ofcourse pirate:
Flying in from Philly - where are you from in NJ??

I'm from way up north....the next town over in NY state. But, I may be flying out of Philly. I am using frequent flyer miles to get down to Orlando, and if I can't get the flights from Newark, I'll try out of Philly.

Anyway, thanks for the welcome.

JCEMOM welcome back. Glad you had a great time and weather. I agree that the AKL is wonderful.

Talkto you all this evening.

Well I'm sorry to hear that Jeanna had a "less than pleasant" stay and travel experience. She really debated on trying the value resort and I told her to go ahead....she'd know for sure that way whether or not to do it in the future...and she got her answer.

I'm really sorry that she had bad luck with the bus ride. She really picked on Jeff and me for using them...but all went smooth for us in December. We only waited 5 minutes for the ride to WDW and we had a set meeting time at CBR to be shuttled to the Port. We got there without incident and basically walked right onboard (but alot of that is because they don't leave WDW until late morning/early afternoon so people were already on board). When we got off the ship we went right to the bus to the airport, waited maybe 15 minutes while the rest of the people boarded and their luggage was stored and then were on our way. We even had the same driver that we had take us from WDW to the port.....very nice man!

I'm glad she's home though....been missing her.....

My DW asked me to sit in on the chat tonight, but I being feeble, cannot figure out how to get invited to sit in.

Can you let me know how I can get invited to the chat tonight?

Thanks, BD

We are CHATTING NOW...come on in

Great chatting with you all. I wish I could hang in there longer. I will when we get on the ship. :woohoo:

Tracey - :welcome: back! Happy to hear you had a good trip. I have not stayed at either AKL or BWV. We used to stay at POQ (is that right?) because they have trundles. Now we stay at OKW. It's very relaxing there.

Glad to see DH of Clynne was able to chime in last night! I always enjoy a good chat! :surfweb: :chat:

Well, time for lessons. Stia needs to pick up her reading pace and put some number facts to memory. Ha. Easier said than done.

Happy Wednesday! :sunny:

Thanks, chatters, for being so patient and gentle with DH last night...And, of course, for your self-control in not letting your axe-murder personalities out...gotta save something for next week!

Rofl.... great idea!! I don't know that I care if people are afraid!! :cool1: pirate: After all, we are axe murderers....

Hey Double-dippers, tell me what you thing about this. I got this idea from my good friend castlegazer and this is what her cuise-meet gang is doing instead of lime-green t-shirts or pins.

Custom made silicone bracelets. I mentioned this in chat Tuesday, but messages were flying so quickly, I don't know if anyone noticed. We could do thier neon green and possibly do a 'fill' for the letters in 'glow in the dark'. They come in three sizes and cost about $2 each. We can order as few as 20 or as many as we need. We have 25 charcaters and spaces (and can't use the word Disney). We could do something like; DIS Magic Doubledip 11/06 or whatever clever line we can come up with. (Perhps we should not use 'axe murderer' in it though.) I'm willing to coordinate the ordering and distributing if enough of us are interested. I could even send them to you in advance, so they could be worn at the terminal ::yes::

Give me some feedback people.
