November 11, 2006 - MAGIC - Special Western "Double Dip" Cruise 11/11/06

Just popping in to let you know that I cancelled our 11/11 cruise. If I had to spend an extra day on this last 3 nighter, I would have pulled my hair out piece by piece! It was NOT the Disney Cruise Line's fault, it was definitely me...I didn't really care for the whole cruising experience, sorry! We had very high seas the first night (swells up to 16-18 feet according to the bridge tour) and we never got sick (although even crew members did), but I was pretty much bored w/ wandering around the ship with a child who HATED the clubs b/c the counselors really were not very caring or attentive. There just wasn't anything for us to do (if you aren't into karaoke, dancing, loud music/people, bingo, the choices were definitely limited). So, I hope you all have a wonderful cruise and I am sorry I won't be along!!!

I just read your other post.......so sorry that the one child liked the clubs and the other one didn't....and I found SO many things to do but as you said, the 7 day has a LOT more to offer......my sisters first cruise she had a similar experience - one child GLUED to her and the other one they never saw! It did greatly improve the second time around - both kids liked the clubs.....

Sorry Dee....I'm still around....just trying to wrap up Christmas stuff! But anyways I talk to myself all the time....normally it's a very pleasant conversation. It just bites when an argument erupts!

Our upcoming cruise is SOOOOOO on the brain as we appraoch this holiday season!

First, we just got off one and we loved it!

Second, unlike the last one where we hid the surprise and told them at the 11th hour before we were embarking, we have a special box wrapped under the tree that will be the last one opened on Christmas night.....

........ it will unviel to our children that we are giving to them a second, and most fabulous!, Disney Cruise next November!

We go from one extreme to the other around this house! It will give them something to really look forward to and count me in for the excitement too!

I love to dream about our next cruise!

That's a fabulous idea. My two (the youngest of the bunch) already know and they are sooooo excited. I still wanted to do something at Christmas but haven't decided what yet....guess I should step it up, huh?

We're hiding scrabble tiles around the house with clues as to where to locate them. Once the kids find all the tiles, then they can unscramble them to find our about our 11/11/06 cruise. We're traveling with 2 other families, and all of the kids will work together on this game and find out together that they all get to CRUISE! We're doing this game on Friday night... can't wait to see their faces

I just paid my deposit! This will be a first cruise for us...me (36 by then), DS (13 then...wow), DS (12 then), and DD (4 by cruise time).

My DS 11 (who will be 12 in February) would love to correspond with any other DIS kids going on the same cruise, especially if any boys are interested in skateboarding and/or dirtbikes/motocross. Just PM me if anyone here has boys or girls interested. He (and I) think it would be great if he could make a few friends to hang out with onboard. DS has an email and he uses AOL too. He could also write the regular old-fashioned way with pen and paper...I think, LOL.

Wow! I rebooked last month while onboard for the 11/11/06 double dipper and today figured I'd wander over here to see if anyone started a thread yet and not only is one started....it's on page 47!!!!!!!!!!! Dang, I'm behind!

Ok, so here's the crew going!
We have 2 cat 7's connecting booked. Me and DH in one (celebrating the 10th ann!) and my mom, DS8 and DS15 in the other. We got a good deal rebooking onboard so we decided to book my mom as well and then tell her!

Add me to the list please and as soon as the holidays are over with I'll get to reading the thread so that I know all the who, whats and wheres.

I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Holiday and A Safe and Happy New Year!!!!!!!
My TA called yesterday to tell us airfare prices are out for 11/10/06. The prices are high for the philadelphia airport but it's early yet. Hopefully we'll be able to do better than 456.90 per person. We paid 178.00 per person in January. I figured it would be higher than that but not quite that high. Anyone else start looking yet?????
We are very glad to be under one year to go.

That is really high for Philly. I got $49 for this past November so just keep an eye out.
