. . . They booked on board for April 2008 since they didn't have any later dates out there. They are a family of 5, and book 2 inside cabins. Well, after they got home they called their TA and was able to get a price significatly cheaper than the price on the boat. . .
Jack, I wonder if the onboard prices for April 2008 increased because so many people were booking fake dates?

Jack, congratulations on post number 6200.

Hey....Jack needs a prize!!!!

I'll tell you what, if someone wants to get me a prize, book a cruise for me and I'll return the favor by keeping you supplied with your favoite beverage of choice! :)

Woody, you may be right, I wonder if they can update the pricing structure that fast out at sea. Anyway, I just wanted to let people know so they could try to save some $$. (and then they could use it towards my trip! pirate: )

Okay, I want you all to know that I have been sufferung dearly for you guys (or at least my waist line, :rotfl2: ). I have been in search of that Mickey Bar substitue. I have consumed several Hagen Daas bars (nightly trip to Eckerds) and I thought that may be it. It was close, but I did notice the chocolate had a slight taste differance. Until today, I happened on to a Dove Bar. Yup it is definately the Dove Bar. :thumbsup2 In fact I would say that the Dove is about as close to exact as I can find. Now all I need to do is find out where they carry them close to my home.

So my search is over, unless you all have a different suggestion you want me to try. :confused3

Have a great weekend.

Good Job Dee! I feel bad now making your waistline grow by not sharing what I already knew...which is that Dove makes the Mickey Bars for Disney....see, I did learn something from the Food Network....

You should be able to get them at your local shopping center. We can get Dove bars even in the tiny stores here in Michigan....they're just not cheap!

Jack, I suspect DCL uses an automated pricing program like many airlines. The first bookings are the lowest price tier. Once a certain number are sold, they go to the next tier, and so on.

Ok, explain this to me... if I booked a fake date in 4/2008 - and once the itinerary's open, does that mean I'll get a better rate on the "real" ship/itinerary I want???? How does that work?

Oh, by the way, I gave my deposit for the 12/07 trip (and Jackie's too) - what she doesn't know is what room I picked... SURPRISE!!!! Don't any one tell her.:cool1:

Do we KNOW what cabin you picked,,,better check my email!

Oppps I actually never got around to sending that email! So sorry pals -oh-mine. We are right across the hall from you guys! 7658... I've gone back and forth on this "do we need a verandah" - ok, I can I live without a port hole? Do I require split bath rooms? Geez - after this week at work, I just keep coming to this, I liked the verandah... I never got vacations as a kid, YES darn it!!!! I want the verandah! So there it is, a few less eating out excursions through the year and some more cooking at home, and bam - there's the money for the verandah. I've already given up my daily starbucks! (sniff sniff).

So I'm giving the upgrade to Jackie for her birthday next year! She can pay her portion of what would have been a cat 11 - I think that feels really good to me!:simba:

We will get a 10% discount on the CURRENT rate for whatever cruise/cat we pick...plus the $200 stateroom credit.

Ok, I guess 10% is ten percent of whatever they charge at that moment for whatever room you want. But no discount for a cat3... got it! Thanks sistah!
