Shirleys are made personal for you. Whatever you want in them. DCL are just generic. So it depends on what you want.

As for the snacks in Cat 3, Linda may know. She is a WDW, but if she checks in maybe she will respond. Otherwise shoot her a PM (Hannosmom)

Here is the last correspondence I have with Ivan regarding our tour. I am awaiting confirmation about the 8:30 time frame (considering they are now meeting us at the port instead of at Cat's Meow). Also, anyone who is still wanting to go (ALISBARC) try contacting Ivan to see if anyone has cancelled to see if there is still room.

Per Ivan...

Our tour will start at the booth for public transportation at the
Costa Maya Port. To get there, after you disembark, walk (or take the trolley!) to the shopping plaza at the port. When you enter the plaza walk on the right side towards the exit passing the shops until you see an exit to the parking lot. When you're in front of the parking lot look for the booth for public transportation, it has a sign reading "Tickets to Fishemen's Village". This booth is hard to miss since it's the only place at the port where you can get transportation. You can ask anyone at the plaza and you'll be directed to it. We'll be waiting for you there to start the tour as soon as everyone is ready.

Did you order baskets through DCL or the gift place mentioned in the FAQ's. I'm just curious if one is better than the other to use? I'm definitely going to order beach toys etc. for my kids. I'm not sure about all the snacks though. Does anyone know what kind of snacks will be in our room (cat. 3) I thought I read that there was stuff when we arrive but I don't know what?

I think a lot of us are using Shirley at www.theperfectgift.cc as she can customize your baskets. I wouldn't wait much longer to contact her....LOTS of double-dippers are using her. There's not much to the web site but it should give you the phone number.

I'm sure one of our concierge kids can answer the 'treats' question. I know the team does drop stuff off....just don't know what or how much.

There will be Guiness Harp and two other. So you get a mix of everything. Light Dark Pilsner etc.

Does anyone know what kind of snacks will be in our room (cat. 3) I thought I read that there was stuff when we arrive but I don't know what?

I have stayed in a Cat 3 twice. Each time the snacks were not the same. You will have some water and sodas. You can also expect lots of fruit including Choc Covered Strawberrys.

babysitting in cabin

Hi All,

Is there in cabin babysitting available for an extra charge? We have a reservation at Palo one night at 9pm and my kiddos (4 and 5 yrs old and toilet trained) will be asleep by then. There's no way I could have them at a kids club or event at that time and expect anything but grief and tears the next day (they might be cranky as well LOL)

Anybody know?

Really don't know how they compare to the DCL ones, except that I wasn't too excited about the pictures of the DCL ones (except that one picture of the Mickey pearl necklace...) and I'd heard such glowing reports of the ones from The Perfect Gift. Took me a couple calls to get through to someone, but the lady was pleasant enough this morning. Can't vouch for either, though, as I don't have any firsthand experience.

Election training for me tonight so no chat

You know... I've been in charge of a polling place for about 10 years (and I'd hate to have to count how many elections that has been). It bugs me that before every election I have to attend a 3 hour class to hear the same stuff over and over again (well, there may be about 20 minutes of new information in that 3 hour time frame). Makes me really despise that "Help America Vote Act" that requires "Everyone" get the same training. You'd think it would be better to just offer refresher classes to those of us that do each election, than to make us sit through 3 hours.

Oh well, enough venting!
