One more thing: Anyone have a good suggestion for things to ask Shirley to put in a basket for Dh? I'll definitely ask for some good, German beer, but can't think of what else. He has earned a massive promotion and I wanted to surprise him with a congrats basket. Thanks.

How about a book by his favorite author or newest copy of his favorite magazine? You can send it down to Shirley (the book) or she will shop for you (the magazine). Would he enjoy a cigar? They have special cigar nights at Cove Cafe. How about some nuts to go with that beer?

We're doing the Royal Dolphin Swim at DD and don't really plan on hanging around Chakanaab. But I will be interested in reports from the Oct double-dippers. I'm just glad to hear the rest rooms by the dolphin area are open now!!!!

OK, kids, it's 7:19pm and I'm still at work......had to use the printer for some personal stuff, but I'm heading out now for some dinner and a late night of envelope stuffing. SO GLAD I cross checked my wrist band list with posts....almost sent a child bracelet to the wrong person! I will be bringing the few spares I have (mostly Adult size) with me, in case there are any last minute "oh, I wish I'd gotten one" folks!

Getting very excited around here! :cool1: I started putting together our packing list and we will start gathering things this weekend.

I have not heard from the lady who has the button machine yet. Like I stated she isn't the most reliable person but I am being hopeful. If I don't hear anything by the middle of the week I will try a different avenue to get ahold of her. I'll keep you all updated. :confused3

On 11-14 we will be sitting on the beach at Chac-chi resort enjoying a relaxing day in the surf and sun. :cloud9:

On Nov 14th we will be trouping through the Mayan ruins with this cutie!

OK....in more recent pictures David is a little 'fluffier' but he's still a cutie-pie! (Hmmmmmm, wonder if he's got a woman  who's feeding him well?)

After schleping through the jungle, it's back to the ship for clean up and "Twice Charmed" (well, maybe a nap before that). After dinner.....it's 80's night!

. . . Does anyone remember when Johnny was on 21 Jump Street? I used to watch that. . .
Yes, it was like "Mod Squad" in high school.

FYI I just saw that Disney posted a new note about passports. :ccat: They have extended the deadline until June 1, 2009. Hope your all having a great day. My twins are fighting strep throat. Welcome to kindergarten. :charac2: Well better now than in four weeks.

We are just over the moon with excitement. I just found out that we got an upgrade. Talk about exciting. I don't think I'll tell the kids and just surpise them. Sorry to be rambling I was just so excited and had to share the news.

So happy for you - it's like Christmas isn't it?

Hi everybody! I have not checked in in a LONG time (got a few things going on here..like moving to CHINA with Dh's company in December  ...I've been a little distracted..)

Anyway, it is actually time to plan this thing, isn't it?? Although we obsessives have been planning for years.

What has everyone heard about the Dolphin Discovery lately? I can only find mixed reviews of it and not even many of those. There aren't a ton of choices for a 5 and 7 yr old. I think it could be a fabulous experience or a real rip off. Whattaya think?

I've heard Chakanaab is not worth hanging around these days. I guess we'd do the D.D. and leave?

We were interested in taking the kids to the mayan ruins, etc, but considering a few weeks later, we will begin living in ancient China, that trek has lost some appeal....

Any opinions.

ALso, a few weeks ago, someone emailed me to get info for a new list. (sorry, but my brain is really overloaded these days..) I'd love to see the list if someone can direct me.

Thanks, Jennifer

P.S. Last night, Dh (who is not a Disney lover and thus has not been particularly excited about our trip) told me to call and upgrade the cabin! :cheer2: Silly me, I am being rational and hesitating :confused3 I think tomorrow I get with it and book the cat 8 GTY.

Jennifer - Welcome back! So glad to hear from you - and what exciting news! Not only about the big move and the promotion but that your DH is wanting an upgrade - he sounds like he's getting excited now and that's awesome!

So happy for you!

Hi everyone. Thanks for the suggestions about a basket for Dh. I'll call Shirley Monday.

Well, I did call in to upgrade today and the price had gone up $250 more since yesterday! I said, No thanks. It doesn't seem worth $1200 to change to a Cat 8. When we were in the Wonder's Cat 4, we were hardly ever in the room anyway - at least not awake! I just plan to spend more on excursions and fun and not have to worry so much instead.

I did book the Dolphin excursion. If it is a rip off, so be it. It will still be closer than my kids have ever been to the amazing creatures. Plus, it is the day before Ds #2's 6th birthday, so I am trying not to tell them beforehand. ;)

Also reserved the 2 day CC getaway snorkel package. That should be fun.

Planning to get a week pass for Rainforest room. I can't do that ahead of time, can I? Speaking of, is everything in the RR really hot? I want DH to participate, but his face gets irritated if he gets too hot in a sauna, etc.

Tomorrow, I think I'll buy a dress for formal night. What fun! We're really rollin' now! :cool1:

Interesting. 2 1/2 years is quite a deadline extension!! I'd be upset if I had gotten them just for this cruise and then the deadline changed like that.

We did get the kids' passports last week. What a complicated ordeal--all of us appearing in person, together, etc. We had to expedite them too and have them Fedexed too. That was a pretty penny! :scared1: Luckily, we needed them quickly to register the kids for school in China, so the company will pay for it. :woohoo: and we'll have them before the cruise.

Phew! All things come to those who wait....

My computer crashed and have really been out of the loop. I have been reading and trying to catch up on all the news. Does anyone know what time is best to be at the port if you have traveling with Disney cruisline before. I think we can go on a little earlier than others. Right?

Hope all is well with everyone. Will talk again later

Did anyone answer this question???

If you've cruised with DCL before, you are a Castaway Club member, and we have our own check-in line. You don't actually get on the ship any faster because of it. When you arrive at the port, you will be give a group number...the earlier you arrive, the lower the number. Concierge guests (cat's 1, 2, 3) board first (group 1) then the others. I'm told it goes really fast (like people with group 5 were on the ship within 20 minutes for the first person). THey don't let you in to the port till 10:30am, and generally boarding starts just before noon (unless there's trouble with customs and getting people off the boat....but that's rare).

OK...back to checking up on today's posts.....

Thanks for the update on boarding. I guess that really does make sense. There probably is more returning cruises than new ones. We are so excited my kids have been sick this past week so they haven't been talking about it as much. But now that they are feeling better I'm sure the questions and count down will begin. Kids are fussing better go and check on it. Talk with everyone soon. Have a blessed day.
