Oh, Michelle! What a pain!! I can't believe they couldn't do more for you. At least, restore your reservations. Geez. How difficult could that possibly be? I am so sorry for you (but, still really happy you made it back on our cruise!)!

Hang in there!

Carolyn

Hi all- I hear I missed a fun chat. Sort of wish I was there instead of in my van. On our way to TKD, there was a roll over accident right in front of us. Looked like a scene you see in movies with car chases. A black SUV that was in front of me (we were both turning right from a red light) cut off a small red car. The red car slammed on the brakes (was going close to 50mph I would guess- that is the legal limit on that road), but the teen driver was unable to avoid the black SUV and hit the left tail end. The black SUV had turned right, but instead of taking either of the closest 2 lanes, the driver pulled all the way into the left lane. As the car impacted the SUV, the car was being crushed into the raised center divide, then flipped over, slid on the top, and caught fire. This all happened just as I turned onto the street, so it all happened right in front of our van. I stopped immediately, the guy that was traveling behind the red car got out and pulled the teen out of the car, and the SUV drove about a qtr. mile (at least) down the road before they pulled over. The teen was quite shaken, but seemed physically okay (I am totally amazed that she was not worse off). She kept saying "why did they do that? I am a good driver, there was no way I could avoid them, there was no where I could go." Of course the occupants of the other car claim she swerved from another lane and just slammed into them. Even her brake marks go against what the people in the SUV claimed happened. I also remembered later last night that I over heard the couple from the SUV claim that the woman was the driver, but I remember seeing her get out of the passenger side (because I was watching the vehicle wondering if they were going to hit and run, or if they were ever going to stop and pull over). I called the police back today to report that detail. Funny, they never asked me who the driver of the SUV was. I probably should not have been able to over hear what they were saying in their report to the police either, but it seemed an important detail to me. YIKES! Still in shock over what I saw.

Hello fellow cruisers! WELCOME to all the newbies that I've missed over the last week or so - :grouphug: very happy you 'll be joining us!

Michelle - I'm very sad about your news, and am wishing you all the pixiedust:  :flower3: I can muster!

In reading some of the newbie's "when are we meeting" comments - aren't we doing a DIS meet the first day we board as well? I didn't catch that and wanted to confirm that - to all you OCD planners - Jackie, Dee, Devon and my other fun loving Dis friends!

I think the Mickey crocs are cute - but I tried that style on and it didn't suit me, so hopefully they'll put some Mickey stuff on the Niles! I love those. Or the flip flops, (am I wishing upon a star here?)

I am glad all your folks back east are drying up from Ernesto - even though last week at chat i had NO idea who you were talking about - you take the girl out of the East Coast and put her in the desert and her brain dries up -

We actually had a mini flood in our back yard from the two nights we got storms - nothing to compare yours too - for sure, but my landscaper (no NOT the pool boy) is planning on doing some "elevation" work for us. He also found a leak in the sprinkler system that I've been TELLING my DH about for a year now and no one would listen to me... Geez!!:bitelip:

I have to say, my mind has NOT been on the cruise and I've lost the excitement I had several months ago - all steamed out I guess - now don't worry - it might be BETTER if I'm calmer than I was - :rolleyes1

Well, I'm glad to hear that BUBBA is now a hunky 200 lbs! Thanks for the update on that sister!

Also, I'm not 100% sure about the Dis meet in Vegas - I'm working on a few things, but I know my sister and Dee will have a great time - and Miss C if she decides to go out. Make sure you eat at Mandalay Bay at the Chinese restaurant it's FABULOUS! Oh, and RED SQUARE for martini's... the entire top of the bar is frozen to keep your drinks nice and icy!

:p

Ok, that's about all I can update for now...p.s. did I miss a good chat last night? Ahhhh geezzzz

Wendy I am glad you are okay.

Michelle, I could not care less if you were the president of Disney, you deserve the same good customer service. I would call back and complain to the supervisors supervisor if need be. What a terrible way to treat an employee and CUSTOMER.

Peggy Jo..so nice to hear from you and I am saddened that you have lost your cruise excitement. Maybe if you join us in vegas we can jump start you for the cruise. No pressure :rolleyes1 ;)

I hope mS C comes, we already have the room. Now all we need is the party :dance3: I have been trying to work my sister over with a hose. (just kidding about the hose) to get her to come to vegas and blow off her class reunion. If she wants to see old people who are fat and gray she can look at me for a few days and go to the casino. :rotfl2:

Well I am off to order my WDW tickets for our precruise stop at Magic Kingdom.

Wendy...so glad everyone was ok. Moving vehicles scare me!

Peggy...YOU can't lose your enthusiam, where would we be without it???? I know, you're probably just calm and relaxed after your trip to Wyoming. Cruise-mania will be back...I'm sure of it! (And, thank you for the pool boy comment! At least you remember your fellow cruisemaniacs!)

Michelle...I agree with Dee (as usual:))...make another phone call or two!

Dee...think we'll pass on Vegas this time....Ka wouldn't be an option for us, but it sounds like you and Jackie (and Dsis and Miss Peg???) will have a great time.

Ms C...How regretful you will not join us. KA is not an option for us either. Right now it looks like it is only going to be Jackie and I. I can not convince my DSis and takinga hose to her would not be a good thing. She is, after all, the brut in this family.

Maybe Woody and Ms Woody will join us?????

On the first page of this thread there is a list off all the Disers who have stopped by and said they will be joining us.

I have taken that list and incorporated into the Dbl Dis Navigator.

What I need is people real first names. I believe we have decided to not include the names of children or cabin numbers.

Please PM me with that information. :surfweb:

If you are not on the first page and want to be added, please just PM me. :thumbsup2

Thanks

We will be in L.V. in October, but I think on different dates.

KA is excellent, and I highly recommend it. We have seen all Cirque di Soleil shows in L.V., except Zumanity (would rather see performers with clothes) and the new Beatles "Love" (we have tickets in October).

So far, KA is by far our favorite, and DW has seen it a second time.

Thanks for letting us know. Shame we will not be there at the same time. We are considering seeing Blue Men. Any thoughts on that show.

We saw Blue Man Group and enjoyed it. Lots of percussion and visuals. But not something I would pay to see twice.

"O" is excellent. As is Elton John's "Red Piano." (I would see both of those again.)

I also heard good things about La Reve (at the Wynn). If you like musicals, have you considered Phantom of the Opera?

WOW I am glad no one got hurt and you were not in the middle of it.
I was involved in the same type of thing on the high way. A guy pulled right on to the road from an on ramp and never looked. I had just slowed down as to not pass some on by an on ramp. He slammed in the car right in front of me. No one rolled over but the car caught fire and I had to pull the guy out I sprayed him with my fire extinguisher. I all most lost the trailer I was pulling it was all the way around 90 degrees from the truck in a ditch. One of the scarcest things I have ever seen. Fortunately no one was hurt in mine as well, I missed every one. When the police showed up I guess I was noticeable frazzled he asked me where I was going. I said to Wal mart to get a new pare of shorts than to Wendy’s to get a frosty and relax for a few min.
I didn't have my kids with me I was working. I had just got on the high way so I wasn't going that fast. I can't image if I would have been in my van with my kids. That would have made it much worse.

Ok sorry for asking this again I was a little under the weather over the weekend. Who need Maginets brought to FL . I just need to know how many to bring.
I am going to be at the radisson friday night, maybe DW friday. depending on weather time we leave and how long it takes to get down.

Wendy
OMG that is so scary! We have witnessed a few car accidents and thank God no one was hurt. There is nothing more scary then watching a car flip over in front of you. Some times I am really surprised how little imput the police offers really want to know about an accident. I wonder if it has to do with no one being seriously hurt or no fault insurance. In any case Luckily everyone was O.K. Were your 3 boys with you?
Peggy
I miss the excited little you!!!! Hopefully the excitement will return in the next few days. You always bring a smile to my face when I see a post from you. Here is some pixiedust: and some party: to help bring it back!!

Devin, thank goodness someone else was faster than me, and I wasn't the person who had to pull her from the car (2 guys got there faster- I was so flustered, I had a hard time finding where my hazard lights were on my van). :confused3 I did help her get to the side of the road though. No one used fire extinguishers, we just moved away quickly in case the car were to explode. I did know where the extinguisher was in my van though! :goodvibes

Yes Michelle. All 3 boys were in the van with me. We were on the way to oldest son's TKD class. Oddly enough, about 2 years ago, we were involved in an accident on the same road on the way to TKD class for sparring. We were stopped at a light, someone rear ended us and pushed us into the car in front of us (someone I know of course). Then the guy argues in spanish with everyone at the scene, then gets back into his car, drives it over the center divide, and takes off the other direction (all b4 the police arrrived). They did catch him though- he left his father at the scene. :guilty:
Not sure how freaked the kids were about this one - would have been worse if there were blood involved.

Wendy, wow, how horrible! I'm glad you were able to add that little "tidbit" to the police report. I was witness to a bad rollover on Interstate 95, and the guy who hit the car ran. Luckily, when I am stressed out, my mind remembers every detail and I had his license#. And I thorougly enjoyed testifying in court against him. The rollover invovled a family on their way to WDW. Their were quite a few injuries, but all recovered, thank goodness.

Wendy- I forgot to mention that I am happy you and your boys were not hurt!

Dee- Jackie- WHAT? Your not going to Cirque? How come?????? Ah man.....

Surly - GLAD TO SEE YOU OH MISSING ONE!

Miss C - I know I know, the idea of me being calm is kinda scarey eh?

Woody - What's up man????

Devin - Were you sick too? Hope your feeling better - my sick tummy is still kinda lingering...

Ok, back to work for me!

I'm waiting to hear how much money I'm getting back from my pre-tax medical savings plan - I submitted my statements yesterday and if I get enough back to have my garage storage cabinets put in and a little extra I'll be coming to Vegas! I think I've been a bit spoiled in the travel dept. and need to get some home improvements done - my list is growing there!!!

I can't even recall how many weekend trips I've had this year and two big trips as well. Gosh, the guilt and I'm not even Cathollic!

Why does Surly post when the pool boy is mentioned??? Hmmm....

Dee...kids have a swim meet that Vegas Saturday, but maybe, maybe I could talk Surly into driving to Vegas after the meet. Don't know how long the meet will last, or, um...how long Surly's patience will last. I'll keep working on him...(We wouldn't do Blue Man, either, but maybe breakfast the next day??)

Carolyn

Carolyn...sounds great, I would love to do breakfast with you guys. Tell Surly it would make my day/year/century. Get the point?
