We will be going Thanksgiving week. Can you tell me what clothes I will need? Is it going to be humid? What about the crowds? any info would be great. I am used to going aug. sept or Oct. so any info would be great.:dance3:

Well we went last year and it was cold! We're going again this year and I will start watching the weather early in the week, then pack accordingly. On my shopping list is lightweight thermal undershirts(DH has 2sets and thinks they are great), convertable pants(DH and the boys already have them) and hats and gloves. Hopefully I will not need these, but will purchase to cover my bases.

We're staying at SSR in a 2br so I have the advantage of a washer and dryer in the room, so if I pack a combo of things I can do a couple of loads if the weather deviates from forcast(which it probably will).

We're going down Sunday before this year(did Saturday last yr). The crowds were not bad until Wednesday, really noticed that morning at the bus stop. We did MK and Epcot early in the week. MGM on Wednesday and AK on Thanksgiving. This time we'll cut the park visits off at Wednesday early afternoon.

was it to cold to swim?

We went Thanksgiving 2006. Had a few days for jeans and sweatshirts but the rest was shorts, sunblock and swimming weather.

We'll be there the week following Thanksgiving and I was wondering the same things as you (weather, swimming etc.). As a Canadian, I can tolerate the cooler temps comfortably, (try saying that 10 times!) but the kids will be a bit dissappointed if they can't swim at the resort pool.

I am used to cold also. I do not swim in NY unless its really hot and humid. I hate getting out into cold air:scared1: . . Now I will have a Condo with a splash pool I hope I can swim. My dh hates hot temps and I love it . Boy he will be in his glory

We were there this Thanksgiving. We arrived in Orlando on Saturday, and hit the MK on Sunday. It was a beautiful day. I wore Bermuda lenght shorts and I was comfortable. After that, the weather did turn cold, and we were all dressed in layers. Totally agree about the strategy for the parks. Get MK out of the way early in the week. By Wednesday the crowds start to come in. I was advised to stay away from the MK on Thanksgiving. We spent the morning in AK and then went to EPCOT late in the afternoon. The weather did start to warm up the later part of the week. But you know what, if you've ever been to Disney in the summer with the heat and humidity, I don't think you'll mind if you get cool weather. It didn't bother us one bit. We weren't tired, didn't need to drink every 15 minutes, we just kept going and enjoying ourselves. We loved Thanksgiving week with the Christmas decorations. It was perfect!!! Hey, I love Disney anytime!!!

The weather can vary greatly from year to year...
We went for Thanksgiving in 2005 and had a beautiful week! We wore capris and T-shirts, and light jackets (for morning and evenings). We were able to swim (the water was warm, but the air a little cool once you got out of the pool), and really enjoyed our week. I told my kid's principal how it was the best time of the year to go...
He planned a trip for his family and took them for Thanksgiving in 2006...It snowed the first day they were there! :scared1: They were in layers all week, and it was cold every day except for the last day there...
OOPS! :confused3
I still think it's the best time to go, as we are planning another trip around that time, but...we'll be following the weather report closely, so we pack clothing to suit the weather...:goodvibes

That is probably the best advice! We're going again this year and I will be checking the weather!(Accuweather is good place as they do 15 day forcast and you can start checking earlier!, But we know how accurate weather forecasts are :rotfl2: )
