The story left off at DD and myself waking up at 4 am and not being able to go back to sleep. When breakfast started at ASMO, we were there. I had pre arranged for a towncar to pick us up and take us to Seaword-DD's first time there and I hadn't been there in years. Rick from Transmaxx picked us up in a suv and took us to Sea World. I had all ready booked a behind the scenes tour of Polar Expedition and as well as Dining with SHamu. We went to check in and find out the tour time and dinner time. I then booked another behind the scenes tour for predators. We had some time before the tours started, so DD and I fed stingrays and dolphins. We did the Predators tour. The was a mix up and the tour guide wasn't there so a trainer started the tour and we went behind the Shamu stadium and was shown the medical area and there was a couple Orcas that were in the pools and peaking their heads out of the water to look at us. Then the tour guide from the education department came and continued the tour, but not before I asked the trainer to take a picture with DD and she obliged. Then the other family did the same. I had taken my DD out of school for 4 days for the trip, so her homework was the write a daily diary and take some pictures. We then went to behind the Shark encounter building and touched a small leopard shark and went above the shark tank. The tour lasted an hour, but well worth it. We had lunch afterwards then for the next tour, Polar Expedition, we didn't see Polar bears because they werent in that area, but we did see beluga whales and went to a separate building and touched a penguin, they are so adorable. That tour was also well worth an hour. One of the whales had a calf a few days before, so no Shamu show, but they did have a "new" whale showing. This is where I almost lost it. My dad and I had come to Sea World 11 years before and I had lost him in 2004 and I remembered how we saw the Shamu show together and he wanted to sit in the wet zone. So, DD and I are standing and looking at the big screen t.v and it is showing previous whale births and I am starting to cry just for the memories, I would like to think Dad was with us at that moment. Ok, before I start to cry again, we go to have dinner with the whales. We had a table right next to the pool area and there were 2 beautiful Orcas, the buffet was good, but you pay more for the experience than the food. We just enjoyed the animals. We left around 6 pm. The christmas decorations were great, we took a lot of pictures. I will write the cruise portion on the cruise trip board.
