Nov 2012 - A solo crazy woman heads to WDW!

Look what was in the mail today!!!!!

I got mine too, but my Magical Express info looks different???? It's in a bigger booklet this time, and I noticed that instead of vouchers it has scannable bar codes that you just show when you arrive. Did you get the Mickey holographic luggage ID tags (not the yellow one you attach to your bag)?

I just re-looked at your calendar, and we may be in DHS also on the 30th. It's hard to tell with my uncle - I make general plans but he likes to decide on the spur of the moment. I'll be wearing a blue Hilton string backpack, with a Lime Green Mickey Head attached to it. I usually wear a ball cap, so I'll probably have a plain beige ball cap on. My uncle is a very charming, almost bald (but don't tell him I said so - he still thinks no one notices:rotfl2:) 72 year old.

No, just the yellow tag, but I didn't do a package, my reservation is room only since I'm only staying onsite one night. I'm not even using the luggage tag since I am scheduled to land at 9:45PM. That's too close to the 10PM cut off for me!

TWENTY-THREE DAYS!

Oh my gosh, it's getting SO CLOSE!

I'm still checking the dining daily to see if I can get an earlier time for Ohana and I have a couple of ADRs that I might still cancel, but now it's time to work on my "touring plans". Yes, I do them. I don't religiously adhere to them, but I like having an "outline" to work with.

The other things I'm working on are my packing list and my squished penny list.

The hubby and I just got back from a long weekend in Vegas (HIS idea of a REAL vacation). I now realize how HORRIBLY out of shape and unprepared I am for the walking I will be doing at WDW. I think I will be making some changes to the touring plans to make them a little more "achievable". I'd LOVE to be able to schedule a break back at my resort mid-day, but with the short park hours and staying offsite without a car, it's just not feasible. I've already scheduled "on site" down time to sit and relax, mostly at onsite resorts. Like on my Animal Kingdom day - I have a 2 hour break planned to go to AKL and check out their lobby Holiday decorations and I figure I'll go to the bar and get a glass of wine and just sit and chill. My first park day has extended hours, so I do have a 4 hour break planned, during which time I will be switching from AoA to Bonnet Creek resort. If they don't have my room ready, I'll do all the check in stuff and then go hang out by the pool. They have a lovely lazy river. I've already planned to have my swimsuit in the small carry-on bag I'm using Friday night. Not even going to open the main suitcase until I get to Bonnet Creek. My plan is to leave it at the bell desk at AoA and not even haul it back to my room at the Little Mermaid building.

All the details and planning are swirling around in my brain and making my head spin like a teacup! LOL

Hi Lisa! Your trip is right around the corner. So exciting!
Midday breaks in the resort lounges sounds like a fabulous idea to me, but you already know that ;-)

Hi, Jen! Notes? Not likely. Photos are another story. I formatted all my memory cards for the camera today. I can take around 10,000 pictures before I have to transfer photos to the laptop. LOL

OHMIGOSH! I'm down to TEN DAYS! ACK! I need to start PACKING! LOL

One week from right now, I'll be headed across Magic Kingdom on my way to Be Our Guest for my dinner reservation!

In an attempt to start packing, I've been obsessively checking accuweather's forecast. It's not helping. LOL The forecast has been changing every 8 hours or so. Yesterday, I had rain in 5 of my 7 days. Today? NO RAIN. None. Zip. Nada. It's crazy, I tell ya!

I'm down to eight days, you must be crazy excited!pixiedust:pixiedust:

Thanks for the PM about the filming dates. My uncle and I were there for filming last year, and it was kind of a PITA. I would be willing to be a little more flexible, but my brother's fiance has a 5yo daughter, and they've told her all the things she's going to get to do, and he just doesn't get that that takes some actual PLANNING. So, I've revised my schedule AGAIN!

Tue 11/27: Arrive in early evening, collapse in relief :lmao:
Wed 11/28: AK
Thur 11/29: Epcot
Fri 11/30: Disney Studios (my brother and his fiancee are arriving around noon) We will get to see the lights and possibly Fantasmic if the little one makes it that long
Sat 12/1: Epcot - ADR for princess meal at Akershus
Sun 12/2: MK possibly, even though there's a party, so the little one can see the castle all lit up. There's a party there that night, so we will be leaving as soon as we see the castle lights
Mon 12/3: MK again. My uncle and I have rezzies for the Tommorowland dessert buffet
Tue 12/4: I will ask my uncle what he wants to do (finally!). We'll have hit his favorite park twice (Epcot), and all parks at least once.

It's soooo hard to be the only planner in the family:rotfl2::rotfl2:.

Crazy excited and stressed out. So much to do before I leave! :scared1:

I'm in Epcot on the 29th - it's my candlelight processional day. I think that's the day I'm planning on doing Nemo, the fish, living with the land and that side of World Showcase. Of course, if Test Track is in soft opening, I will drop Nemo like a bad habit. LOL

On the 30th, I've decided to forgo the Fantasmic dinner. I may or may not try and catch the show. I've seen it there and I really do prefer the version here. I'd rather get some quality time at the Osborne Lights and meet Santa Goofy. :santa:

72 hours from now, I'll be half way between Chicago and Orlando!

Hi Lisa! Hope you're having a great time on your trip!!! Looking forward to your pics and report!! :goodvibes

If you happen to see this while you're at WDW, I just need to confirm if you're joining us (and hubby?) for dinner on the 7th at the Old Spaghetti Factory. We're looking at 6:30pm and would like to give the restaurant a heads up before showing up with a party of 20ish......lol Thanx!!

Soak in all that holiday goodness for me!!!!

I am home. I am tired. My feet may recover in the next week. LOL I took WAY too many pictures. I ended up cancelling many of my ADRs. I came home to 300+ emails. I haven't started Christmas shopping, decorating, cards, etc. I have to do my PhotoPass editing. I figure it may be Spring before I write a trip report. LOL

Thanks to all who followed along in my OCD planning journey!
