Now remember in my July TR, that I had to literally drag RAchel on Splash Mtn and then the next day she was begging to go back on? We changed our day around so she could do SM again. Then for the next 4 months we hear, I want to do Splash Mountain, 4, no 5, no 20 times in a row!! Oh, and don't forget about our Splash Mountain day. If you haven't seen this, go back to post #2 table of contents and check it out. We had an entire, very fun, Splash Mountain day in August.
So, now I have 3 FPs for Splash Mountain and I did not tell Rachel b/c I wanted it to be a surprise. With Rider Switch, she can go on multiple times!! I'm the best mommy in the world, right????
Nope. Rachel doesn't want to go on. I tell her that if she doesn't, then we are going back to the room for naps. This is the last ride and probably are last chance to ride SM this entire trip.
nope, she's not having anything to do with it.
ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
What is going on? So Jerry and then I take her individually and try to find out what is wrong. She won't tell us.
Finally, I mention that at the end of the ride, she can do the Press Penny and I'll protect her from getting wet, and now she wants to ride.
We watch the end of the parade on the way over and then we ride Splash Mountain. I'm not worried about getting wet b/c when we rode in July we didn't get that wet at all, and it was hot out.
Surely, they have the jets pumped down for November!!???
Well, my entire right side was pretty wet if not soaked in some places. Part of that was because I bent over to protect Rachel from getting wet. Just like thegood mommy I am! (hee hee) It's warm out ...but not when you are wet.
We let the girls play on the playground, and then take the train back to Main Street.
Take the boat back to Poly and let Rachel play on the Hammock for a few minutes
and go straight to our dinner ressies at the Turf Club at SSR. I had heard great things about this place, esp the NY Strip. Folks on the SSR thread said it was better than Le Cellier.
Well, our meal was fine ... not great. My steak was 1/2 wonderful and 1/2 so fatty I couldn't eat it. But we were all hungry from a very long day and needed the food.
We head back to our room, change into warmer clothes and take the boat over to DTD. Elizabeth screams almost all the way. She is just tired and finally falls asleep in the stroller.
We go directly to Santa's Chalet and while waiting in line, Elie wakes up and is in a better mood. But wants nothing to do with Santa. I wasn't going to make her sit on Santa's lap but he said, let me try, so we did.
(I actually entered this picture in a Scared of Santa radio program...who knows, maybe I'll get the most votes! It's just a great photo. She is just sooooo sad and can't get away from him.)
Here is our Family Picture. Note Elie:
After Santa, we went in Ghiradelli for our free candy (Elie snagged Jerry's!) and Once Upon a Toy. we stop at the
Lego Playground and Elie goes up and down the slide over 15 times! She is just giggling and playing and loving it! Rachel builds Legos and then plays on the slide too.
However, when it's time to go, Rachel has a full meltdown and screams almost the whole time on the way back.
Jerry and I just look at each other and somewhat cry, somewhat laugh.
Elizabeth screamed on the way to DTD and Rachel screams on the way back.
Sigh.
Thankfully, the boat is there and the captain gives the girls a bandana and bubbles to stop the crying.
We drop Elizabeth's favorite teddy bear in the middle of the street going back to our rom. Crap. Where is it?
As I go back to find him, a very kind man comes toward me holding our bear. Evidently he walked for 2 blocks trying to catch up with us!
Kudos to him for his generosity and persistence! We never heard him calling us.
Back to the room and Bed.
==================================
Ok, looking back on this day, I see that we did NOT have a relaxing day. I totally forgot about how long this day was. We went from 7:30am to 10:30pm. YIKES!!!!
