I've seen a lot of posts regarding special events noted on the reservation (especially if you're expecting a basket, etc. in the room...I'm making one for the birthdays!!). I've made our reservation (May 27-June 2, 2008 at the Poly!!) already. Should I call and let them know in advance about our 3rd & 6th birthdays/51st anniversary/college graduation? Or should I let them know at check-in.

Not sure what you mean by "expecting a basket". Have you pre-ordered one for delivery? If so, they don't require a special notation on your reservation, just the reservation number on the package itself. If you've gone through the Disney Florist, that's the easiest, but I know a few DIS'ers have online basket companies and they deliver to the resorts as well. Unfortunately, it can't be waiting in your room, but instead, will be delivered sometime after check-in.

It appears that Disney does try to recognize all the special occasions being celebrated daily there, so it wouldn't hurt to have them noted on your reservation. It may get the kids a birthday card or balloon. That's something you can also ask about at the lobby concierge desk after you check-in.

Yes, I'm making one for the birthday kids. They won't need to be delivered until a couple days after our arrival, though, so I don't need them to be waiting for us.

I guess I'll give them a call and a heads up!! Thanks!

Are you shipping them ahead of time? If so, I would just call and confirm the resorts address and also suggest using a delivery service like UPS. You can track the shipment and see who signed for it at the resort. I believe you'll want to note the name on your reservation, the dates and reservation number. When you arrive, you'll probably want to stop by the lobby concierge desk and ask about having the package sent to your room. Unfortunately, I don't think they can guarantee a specific time or day, simply because it depends on how busy their runners are. I'm sure they'll try their best to accomodate you, but if it needs to be on certain day, you might want to consider putting the packages in your room closet and putting them out on your own.

Nah, I'm pretty "go with the flow." We don't need them on a certain day or at a certain time. With all the activity of the arrival and their first EVER views of Disney, I didn't want overstimulation on the first couple days.

Thanks for the info!! Doing Disney on the mommy side is actually pretty fun!:wizard:

I had mentioned when I booked POR sons 17th b day. Whe we arrived at POR the front desk CM said he would send something to the room without me mentioning it. Come the day, we got nothing. I wasnt disheartened as this has happened before. 2 weeks after we got home to the UK we received a phot and birthday card from Mickey.:cool1: Better late than never!
