Didn't know if this had been posted yet. But in the Saratoga dues notice I received in the mail, they are voting on a recreational facilities expansion at the Paddocks pool area of Saratoga. It says the plans are for a larger pool and pool deck, installation of a wet play area adjacent to the new pool, and related enhancements.

They should spend that money to add a nice area to the Carousels......

Having said that, an interactive play area will be a nice addition to the Paddocks. Wonder what the cost will be to owners? Haven't received our statement yet.

Do members/owners get to vote? We just added on at SSR, resale.

This is what it says underneath "The Board resolutions outlined above will be presented at the Members Annual Meeting. As the authorized voting representative for each unit, DVD has reviewed the proposed resolutions and intends to cast each unit's vote to approve each of the above-listed resolutions at the Members Annual Meeting."

OK...so that sounds like it's a done deal...right?

So, do you think that the proposed number for MF for SSR that's been mentioned here on the Dis will stand? It would seem that they have taken this expansion into consideration when presenting that number. I hope so.

We've only stayed one night so far in SSR, but hope to stay more in the future. I think the pool expansion will be good. I also do hope that in the future there will be the ability for SSR owners/others at 7 months to reserve a specific section of SSR.

They have a dollar amount in the statement. So i would think it was something they have been talking about for a while. It will be a nice addition.

This sounds like a good idea. I doubt they'll add anything for carousel since it only has 2 buildings and is really as close to the pool area as the farthest Paddocks building is anyway. I believe we've discussed it here and many of us felt it was needed. Hopefully they'll do it up well enough to make that area as desirable as some of the areas.

Let's hope the additions include a drink station; it is a long walk for those that end up staying in the Paddock or Carousel and like to buy the free refill mugs. An adult refill station wouldn't be bad, either. :)

We love our home at SSR!! Our 1st DVC stay was in the Paddock section and our girls loved the quiet pool, although I do agree the expansion can only benefit us!!

it is definitely needed. the Paddocks pool is small - but services a bunch of guests.

it needs to be expanded. hope you get that refill station.

I wonder if they decided that the main pool was to small and adding to the Paddock pool would help with this problem.

For what ever the reason, it is nice to see the improvement of services in one's home resort. It makes you feel the DVC has not left you behind, and that owners of that resort are indeed considered in the future workings of the group.

Cool!

I was really glad to read about the enhancement. Hopefully they put a refillable drink station in, too, like Grandstand has.

One of the reasons we bought our points at SSR was a wonderful stay in the Grandstand section of SSR. Sounds like this enhancement to Paddocks will make it more comparable to a stay either at the main pool, Grandstand, or Congress Park. :)

I'm hoping this comes under the category of "related enhancements."

I agree with others that this will help make this area competitive with Springs, Congress Park and Grandstand. I also agree that this should help serve Carousel as well, due to its smaller size.

All in all, great news! (Not to mention that the MF's are comparatively low).

you know this will mean closing the pool - so wonder if SSR guests can use OKW pools until the Paddocks is open again?

tgj - I like that idea you sneaked in there - add a drink station to Congress Park, too!

Wouldn't ANY of the SSR pools be closer than the OKW pools? And can't we can use OKW now for pool hopping?

Unless the closure falls under pool hopping blackout dates, of course guests can hop over to OKW. But there are still 4 other pools at SSR much closer than OKW.

4?
grandstand, congress, & main one - where is the 4th?
