Nothing is the same! I need a refresher on Universal.

Thanks for this thread I was ten the last time i was there almost 20 years ago. Excited to go back to what sounds like a totally new park lol. We're going in Nov. Do they decorate for Christmas?
Yes...decorations will be up the parks by mid-November but the holiday festivities won't begin until the first weekend of December.

Last time we were there was November of 2008 to see Simpsons ride. We are going for probably 3 days in October. I'll have to review what's changed. Definitely want to see Harryworld and Transformers. Are three days enough?

Yup..One for each park and one to redo your favorite park

BTW - I Loved the Simpson's ride. It's a wonder we haven't gone back just to see that!

We were there last summer and my teenagers LOVED the Simpsons ride. I told them last month that the rest of Springfield was built since then and they started up with the 'when are going next? are we there yet? are we there yet?'

How does Simpsons compare to Back to the Future? Why did they get rid of that one! If I was a billionaire I would purchase or have built a simulator replica of the BttF ride, loved the movies I can watch them over and over.

for some reason, lucy still has a drawing power.

i guess there are people that still enjoy her rerun shows and her simple type of sillyness

My DD13 absolutely LOVES Lucy and is really looking forward to the exhibit and hopefully a pic. :goodvibes

OP I don't want to hijack your thread, but I'm in nearly the same boat as you. We'll be in WDW, only have one day for Universal, and will have two kids with us. The boys are 7 and 11 and I think we will be skipping coasters and huge thrill rides. I was planning to only visit IOA because we only have the day (boys are obsessed with Harry Potter)....Will this be enough to keep them busy for the day if we only do IOA? I would rather not try to rush through both parks..but I would also hate to plan to spend the day and be done with everything by 11. None of us have ever been to Universal so I'm sorry if these questions are silly. I'm enjoying reading everything!!

Oh..and if it makes a difference we will probably buy the express pass thing for each of us for the day. Thanks!!!

there is no express line for FJ and Ollivanders in the parry hotter section.
the 2 coasters do have express lines.

you won't be done with ioa by 11:00.

check out Jurassic park, seuss area and marvel after you do parry hotter.

Thank you!!! So do you feel like it's a good idea for us to get the express pass? I'm sure the boys will love the other areas too! Thanks so much!!

I really don't think you'll be done with IOA by 11. Here are things that little boys should enjoy at IOA: explore the Harry Potter Area, do the Sinbad show, play in Camp Jurassic, explore the Jurassic Discovery Centre, ride One Fish Two Fish, Suess Trolley and Cat in the Hat, ride Storm Force Acceletron, ride Spiderman, watch the Cavalcade of Super Heroes and get their autographs, spray people on Dudley Do Right (bring quarters), do Pteranadon Flyers. Play on Me Ship the Olive. Eat. You could also do Poseidan's Fury and if it is hot you can ride Popeye and Jurassic Park if your kids are a bit more adventurous. That should take you most of the day.

wait until you are in the park to make that decision of buying express passes.
if the line waits are overwhelming, go for it.

you can only use the pass one time only per ride/show.

if you go early, you might not have crowds, but if they build during the day and you are short for time, then think about purchasing them.

What a waste of a building it has been. It's a large building for such disappointment as Twister and the former.
I have to think Twister is on the short list of possible redos. I don't mind the attraction but it's old now and I'm sure there is something else that can be put in the space to make for an exciting attraction.

Problem is that it is such a small building. Maybe they can put a stage show in there but there really isn't much space with HRRR running beside it.
