Oh, what the heck! I might as well start this. I mean, maybe by starting this thread, that will be the boost I need to stick with this and just GO. :hyper:

See… this trip started off as a "Couples weekend" :lovestructhat was suppose to be for my husband and I, as well as our best friends- Shelley and Brian. However, Shelley backed out. Then after two back to back trips, she made a grand statement that she was most certainly NOT going to Disney on her next vacation.

So, then it was just going to be my husband and I. But then… who would watch our girls? And that became a more increasingly difficult question to answer. Plus, my husband would be teaching a camp the very NEXT day from when we got home for this trip (because we picked dates and booked fairly early-before we even went back in March… which I KNOW there isn't a proper TR on that one. :faint: I've been BUSY!). He started getting wishy-washy about going just the two of us so far from home right before his camp that he was working. Plus, we would be moving just a few weeks before the trip, so did we really want someone to stay at our house that may or may not be fully unpacked? The answer to that is pretty much, NO.

So, then it hit me. I could just ask someone to travel with me. Afterall, it's just for the weekend and I have one roundtrip flight taken care of, so it wouldn't really cost that much for me to go. So, I decided to ask two of my Disney-Loving friends if they wanted to tag along with me. The first person I asked, was one of my Dis friends and she said that she wanted to, but just couldn't do it right now. Then I decided to ask Shelley. Because, while she had JUST told me that she did NOT want to go back to Disney… THIS trip could be totally different, right? ::yes::

So, as it stands right now… I don't know if Shelley is going to go with me or not. She is considering it. I told her that I already had a reservation at California Grill booked and that we could ride the Mine Train (since she missed out riding that on their trip earlier this month). In fact, I'm seriously considering a "solo trip" if I can't get anyone to go with me. We'll see. I dunno. But now, I've started my PTR. So, it's like officially, official, right??

Oh and "meet the cast" picture! ME!

I found you!

I can't believe this. Are we really going to do this?!?!?! Christen, this trip is only 41 days away!!!!!!! For some reason when we were talking last night, I was thinking 2+ months. Um, no! It's barely over a month. So, I refuse to use the "YOLO" acronym...but, uh, I guess the next best thing is "Seize the Day!"??

The things best friends talk each other into :p

Yeah, note the signature... :rotfl:

I AM SO EXCITED!!!!!!

 :yay:  :yay:  :yay:

SO… Shelley booked her flight and so have I!!! :dance3: We're going to the Grand Floridian and having mimosas at the pool, California Grill to have dinner and will we go into the parks? :rolleyes1

So, what are the plans that we have so far? :rotfl:

Well, we both booked our flights today! :cool1: My flight is RIDICULOUSLY early. I mean, REALLY. I'll be leaving Indy at 5:35 in the MORNING. I am using points on SW and while I could technically chose any flight I wanted- only 3 of them were in my "range" so I could get both flights free. So, my choices were 5:35a, 3:55p or 4:25p. Yeah, I wasn't wasting a full day. I'll take that stupid early flight for Zero Dollars, Alex. :woohoo: What makes my flight even BETTER? I'm about 2 hours from the airport. That's right. You do the math there dearie… Anyone know what time fast food places start serving breakfast??? Shelley's flight is a bit more "normal" flying out at 7:50. She has a bit of a drive to her airport as well. So, this means that with any luck we will be arriving that morning (My flight lands at 7:50 and Shelley's is at 9:15!) and get over to the resort to check in and enjoy seeing where we are staying! I'm kinda hoping that they have a room ready for me when I get there, but if they don't, then I may try and find a shady spot near the pool and take a little nap. :goodvibes

Shelley has an AP, so her tickets to the parks are already taken care of. I have not decided what type of tickets that I want to get yet. Should I just do one day or should I do a 3 day PH option- or something in between??? I typically don't do PH's since we travel with small kids and we barely get through one park in a day, but with it just two adults, then we could enjoy more things and not have to deal with folding strollers and such. So, I have no idea what I will decide on.

After chatting this afternoon, I believe that we are going to have a late lunch over Tea at the Grand Floridian! I have always wanted to have tea there, so this is the perfect option! After tea, we will likely take a little time to enjoy the pool! Woohoo!

I already have a California Grill reservation at 7pm. Wishes is late, so there is no chance of watching from the restaurant, so after we have a wonderful meal, then we will take the monorail over to the Poly and watch Wishes from the beach! It's something I have always wanted to do! And since we're staying at the GF, it makes total sense to take advantage of the location.

So, that is the general idea for day 1 of our 3 day weekend. If I decide to add a 3 day ticket, then we may squeeze in a little park time, but I just don't know.

This sounds really exciting and fun! And tea at the Grand Floridian is so great! I have been craving the little sandwiches they have there like crazy!!! :)

So, Shelley happened to do some research and apparently the Tea Room is going to be closed for renovations while we are there. :( However, I made a call today and the CM assured me that they would be serving Tea over in Citrico's! :cloud9: So, that's good.

Of course, now, we have to make a decision on tickets. I am trying to decide if I want to get 2 day park hoppers or 3 day basic tickets. Shelley has AP's, so it's really my decision what tickets to get. I feel like we could get everything we want to get done fairly quickly, so I feel like we might be happier if I had PH's. I've never had a PH pass though! Isn't that crazy?? With small kids, I don't feel like we would get our money's worth out of PH when we barely get through one park with naptimes and such. But I could really use a PH well on this trip. But I have 3 FULL days there, so do I really want to have a 'down' day?? Decisions, decisions…:confused::confused::confused:

Shelley and I started a spreadsheet today… Yup.:thumbsup2 We are those type of planners!

I'll throw a wrench in...go with 3 day hoppers!!!

Yeah, I don't think I would get 3 day PH's. If I got 3 day ticket, then we'd just spend 2 days at MK and one at Epcot and call it done. :) Now, if we had PH's, I might would try and get a FP for TSM or Everest, just because, but honestly, I'm not even sure about that! LOL

Hi Christen!! I just noticed this.. how AWESOME!! A girl's trip!

Are your dates still early July? We'll be there starting 7/23.

Ha ha ha!! :rotfl2: Spreadsheet people. My kind of people.

Yes, our dates are July11-13th. :( BOO Missing you again! We just keep traveling sooo close but not overlapping. ONE day! LOL

Gotta love the spreadsheets, right? How can one plan without one?? :confused3

So, I decided to go with 2 day tickets for the trip. I figure if I change my mind- I can upgrade to parkhoppers there. We'll see how it goes.

Today, I did my early Check-in!!! :goodvibes It's going to be so great. I didn't make any room requests- honestly, because I just want a room when I get to the resort so I can take a NAP! :faint: Remember, my flight leaves at 5:30AM! So, I'm hoping that being there so early they can just give me whatever they have so I can take a nap for a few minutes before Shelley gets to Orlando.

At this point, I'm so nervous about FP+. When we went back in March, it was fairly smooth and easy to change things around. I have been reading several TR's and other people who have gone recently didn't have the same experience that I had with our trip in March. :crazy2: That is kinda scary to me. I didn't "love" FP+, but I thought it worked well for us at the time. Sounds like the more crowds and people using the system the less "easy" it is. I'm hoping since we aren't trying to hit the parks hard that we're able to maneuver FP+ easier.

In other non-Disney news… We had a small disaster this week. My husband's car died. It is a much older car- 97 Honda Accord, and I'll tell you: I hate car payments. :rolleyes2 I really do. Our cars have been paid off for years, so the idea of adding one to our budget makes me want to . Just gotta decide what we're going to do about that.

Sounds awesome! Can't wait to hear about your girls' trip!

 School is back in session! This cosmetology stuff is hard work, LOL! Luckily, through the summer, I am only going Mon-Thur so there is a little break in there. But I have had homework since day one back! :scared1:

So, I decided already to upgrade my tickets to the parks to parkhopper! :cool1: I just couldn't say no! Shelley has AP's so the temptation for me was just way too much. Not that she was putting ANY pressure on me- in fact, far from it! She was really content with whatever I decided. But knowing I would have the time and freedom to park hop was just so exciting! LOL I love taking my kids to Disney, but I'm going to enjoy the freedoms! :hyper:

So, currently (and we all know what that means! Subject to change at any second!) our fastpasses look like this!

And our dining reservations look like this:

Yes, we are aware that Peter Pan overlaps our dinner reservation at CG. However, we have to use 3, so we just booked a dummy one. Those will likely change though. We've already decided that we might should book FP's at Epcot on Saturday. Which, you will notice… we have NO dinner planned at a Table Service at Epcot. We are going to do a "World Showcase Crawl"! I'm pretty excited about this! I normally don't get a lot of adult beverages while at Disney, just because I'm there with my kids! So this will be a treat for me to be able to have a little more than usual AND the luxury of sharing it so I'm not completely wasting anything I don't like! LOL

Shelley and I both already have Magic Bands, but you know Disney… let's waste a little more money sending out MORE bands! :rolleyes2 So I was stalking this….

Waiting for THESE!

I'm so excited!!!
