Oh, what the heck! I might as well start this. I mean, maybe by starting this thread, that will be the boost I need to stick with this and just GO.
See this trip started off as a "Couples weekend"
that was suppose to be for my husband and I, as well as our best friends- Shelley and Brian. However, Shelley backed out. Then after two back to back trips, she made a grand statement that she was most certainly NOT going to Disney on her next vacation.
So, then it was just going to be my husband and I. But then who would watch our girls? And that became a more increasingly difficult question to answer. Plus, my husband would be teaching a camp the very NEXT day from when we got home for this trip (because we picked dates and booked fairly early-before we even went back in March which I KNOW there isn't a proper TR on that one.
I've been BUSY!). He started getting wishy-washy about going just the two of us so far from home right before his camp that he was working. Plus, we would be moving just a few weeks before the trip, so did we really want someone to stay at our house that may or may not be fully unpacked? The answer to that is pretty much, NO.
So, then it hit me.
I could just ask someone to travel with me. Afterall, it's just for the weekend and I have one roundtrip flight taken care of, so it wouldn't really cost that much for me to go. So, I decided to ask two of my Disney-Loving friends if they wanted to tag along with me. The first person I asked, was one of my Dis friends and she said that she wanted to, but just couldn't do it right now. Then I decided to ask Shelley. Because, while she had JUST told me that she did NOT want to go back to Disney
THIS trip could be totally different, right?
So, as it stands right now I don't know if Shelley is going to go with me or not. She is considering it. I told her that I already had a reservation at California Grill booked and that we could ride the Mine Train (since she missed out riding that on their trip earlier this month). In fact, I'm seriously considering a "solo trip" if I can't get anyone to go with me. We'll see. I dunno. But now, I've started my PTR. So, it's like officially, official, right??
Oh and "meet the cast" picture! ME!

We're going to the Grand Floridian and having mimosas at the pool, California Grill to have dinner and will we go into the parks?
My flight is RIDICULOUSLY early. I mean, REALLY. I'll be leaving Indy at 5:35 in the MORNING. I am using points on SW and while I could technically chose any flight I wanted- only 3 of them were in my "range" so I could get both flights free. So, my choices were 5:35a, 3:55p or 4:25p. Yeah, I wasn't wasting a full day. I'll take that stupid early flight for Zero Dollars, Alex.
What makes my flight even BETTER? I'm about 2 hours from the airport. That's right. You do the math there dearie
Anyone know what time fast food places start serving breakfast???
Shelley's flight is a bit more "normal" flying out at 7:50. She has a bit of a drive to her airport as well. So, this means that with any luck we will be arriving that morning (My flight lands at 7:50 and Shelley's is at 9:15!) and get over to the resort to check in and enjoy seeing where we are staying! I'm kinda hoping that they have a room ready for me when I get there, but if they don't, then I may try and find a shady spot near the pool and take a little nap.
So, I have no idea what I will decide on.
However, I made a call today and the CM assured me that they would be serving Tea over in Citrico's!
So, that's good.
Spreadsheet people. My kind of people.
That is kinda scary to me. I didn't "love" FP+, but I thought it worked well for us at the time. Sounds like the more crowds and people using the system the less "easy" it is. I'm hoping since we aren't trying to hit the parks hard that we're able to maneuver FP+ easier.
I really do. Our cars have been paid off for years, so the idea of adding one to our budget makes me want to
. Just gotta decide what we're going to do about that.
School is back in session! This cosmetology stuff is hard work, LOL! Luckily, through the summer, I am only going Mon-Thur so there is a little break in there. But I have had homework since day one back!
Shelley has AP's so the temptation for me was just way too much. Not that she was putting ANY pressure on me- in fact, far from it! She was really content with whatever I decided. But knowing I would have the time and freedom to park hop was just so exciting! LOL I love taking my kids to Disney, but I'm going to enjoy the freedoms!
