Hello all,

Anyone ever sold their DVC from the UK? The process can all be done (or mostly) via email but closing documents need to be notarized by an "approved" UK notary before it can go through.

I am trying to find out if there are any such notaries in the South West - preferably in the Exeter region?

The ones the timeshare agent have given me are all a good six hour round trip so I am hoping for something closer to home ;)

I am sure I remember a thread about this ages ago from someone who had sold with a notary based in Plymouth but I can't seem to find it :confused3

Thanks if you can help :thumbsup2

Hi There,

I am keeping my DVC, but if you need a notary simply look at a solictor firms as nearly all are notary publics.

Are you thinking of sell them Karen? How many points do you have to sell?

I am thinking about it Gill, we are looking to move house and I need something to go towards the dreaded stamp duty so sadly my DVC looks like it might be it.We have 150 points at SSR.

I'm so sorry, but your home is much more important, and I'm sure you'll be able to buy again.

I'd forgotten you owned at SSR - I might have been interested if they were at either of the Epcot resorts.

Good luck with selling anyway.

Ditto the advice about looking for local solicitors. Phone them first to check, but all the larger practices will almost definitely have a couple of partners who are Notaries. :)

Hilary & Stephen - thank you very much for your advice! That is a relief to hear I must say :)

Gill - absolutely. Though it pains me to admit that, obviously ;)
