Not your avg. request for preferred cabin loops

I have done a search and successfully found a lot of information on what loops are good to accomodate certain needs and wants. While I would love to know what cabin site I can get to be right near a pool and a comfort station and the outdoor movie theater and a restaurant and closest to the marina and.......okay, just messin' around at this point....but I wanted to ask about buses. My greatest fear always with 4 young girls is standing room only. We are the early risers that like to stay ahead of most everyone else for most of our day, so I'm wondering where the empty bus stops first once it arrives at the Fort, so I could possibly worm my way into requesting something close to THAT bus stop. All the park buses (Epcot, Hollywood Studios,Animal Kingdom.Downtown Disney and the water parks ) only stop at the Outpost and then go to the parks, they do not go to the loop bus stops. You get to the Magic Kingdom by boat from the Settlement dock.

If you're up and out early the bus will not be packed. Coming home could be.

I don't think I have ever seen the internal buses too full and as mentioned the buses to the parks only have one stop. EPCOT, Downtown Disney and Animal Kingdom and water parks are at the Out Post but I think Studios is at the Settlement (unless they have changed that). When we are going to the Magic Kingdom we use the boat but otherwise we always drive.

I'd suggest a cabin in either the 2700 or 2800 loops. If you click here you'll get a map of FW. I'm pretty sure I've read of folks who've stayed in those loops and just followed a path through the woods to the Outpost bus stop thus eliminating the need for the internal bus (at least to get to the Outpost. You'd still need them to get around FW, especially with your little ones).

Anyhow, maybe others can comment here on the "cut through the woods" thing. I do recall reading that more than once...

I JUST LOVE WHEN I LEARN SOMETHING NEW about WDW. I had no idea that there was one external bustop (Outpost). That makes so much sense to me. We considered that we'd take the boat to MK, but I read on here that the difference in time (boat vs bus) to MK is very marginal. Any further opinions about that?

Great idea about the 2700 / 2800 loops if they are closest to the outpost via walk through the woods. I did decide that we'd get a golf cart from Kenny ($245 for 7-8 days if you are curious) but we'd like to play it safe just in case something goes wrong with the delivery or functionality of the cart.

I don't think there is a bus from FW to MK. It's boat or swim. You can probably go somewhere else and start, but why bother.

Whoops...I do believe you are correct. I think the posts I read spoke of taking the external bus to the TTC and then boating or mono-rail to MK. But the point was still the same...that the time difference was marginal even with the extra stop at the TTC. Any thoughts on this?

Edit - LOL about swimming. Hate to jump subjects as the previous is much more important to me, but I find it odd that they closed down River Country and any swimming in the lakes (if they actually allowed "swimming" in the lakes) due to this deadly micro-organism that breeds, but they let you do other things that could let you get splashed in the face by the lake water - must be a saturation or parts-per-million type of thing. Hope I havent lost you due to boredom.

Definitely take the boat to MK - we were reluctant to try it too - sounded like a time-consumer - but it was AWESOME. And it drops you right at the front gate.
All the other busses leave from the Outpost - so I agree with PP that 2700/2800 would be closer for that. We like the 2100 loop because it's closer to the Meadows - but we've never had any issues with getting to the Outpost to catch a bus either.
Don't let anyone psych you out about the size of FW - we found it quite manageable with a stroller and 2yo in tow.

Oh, and about the micro-organisms in the water. They aren't swimming or floating around in the water - they are found down in the silt under sand/dirt at the bottom of the lake. The problem becomes when people walk around and play and get all the junk at the bottom all stirred up.
Got this from a very very very reliable source.
So that's why they let us use the lake, but don't want anyone playing on the beaches.

Thanks for the info. We are willing to deal with whatever comes our way at night on the way home from the parks...we prepare most for this. It's about getting our days off on the right foot. We just can't see not getting the parks as soon as humanly possible. It's important to us. Our situation is a bit different with a 6/7/9/11 year old...all girls. The dynamic is different than having one child. They are great for the most part, but just dealing with the conflicts and drama that arise makes a parent want to pre-plan for what you CAN control, because there will be things you can't control. Luckily, they are all energetic kids who LOVE the outdoors.
