or to sound "entitled" but..... DD just called that she has a call back for a show at Disney (Disney Jr. Show). Since, of course, this is all about me, what perks does she get (for me!!) if she does land a job at Disney? I am so spoiled as she already works at Universal and, seasonally, at Sea World and gets passes at both. This would bring me down probably way more than she'd like!!!

I really don't know all the specifics, but I think it may depend on what type of employment she is offered (temp vs. longer-term). I maybe shouldn't even post....

Do look on the resorts discounts thread about onsite hotel discounts. There is one set of discount if the room is for the employee, and another for friends and family - and they vary. During peak times probably no discounts, during slow times of year= more discounts. I think either kind have to be booked by the employee.

Employees get some opportunity to bring guests in the park with them (up to three in one day), where the CM is supposed to stay with their guests all day. I don't know specifics, but I think there is some limit on how often. I think under new FP, those guests can't prebook FP (I think.) but I think employees also get a very limited number of tickets.

Employees also get some food discounts, but I don't know how far (if at all)they extend beyond the employee.

Employees also get invited to a few special events. I don't think those extend beyond employees.

I know she can main-gate you into the parks, but since FP+ has arrived, I think you have to be together in order to do that. Unlike Universal, there are no blackout days.

There is also a discount on park merch and food.

Poor kid, she has already gotten us a friends & family discount for 2 nights at Cabana Bay, free passes to Universal and Sea World, discounts on food, beverages and mdse at US/IOA and SW. How much more can I ask of her?!??!?

You gave her a discount on food and beverages (again, free) for the first 18+ years of her life. Until she has done the same, I say you can ask it of her, right?

There are many, many blackout dates.

Like others have said, it's dependent on what her classification level will be. Regular employee Maingate passes are up to 3 people (or more if you have more dependents), 16 days per year. These are good at WDW, DL AND DLP, and HKDL if you want to go international. She can sign herself in at anytime (except sometimes even CM's are blocked like for Mark Hamill at DHS or the 24 hour party). She has to be present to sign you in, but as you are a parent (and other eligible relationships) she does not have to stay with you. She has to be the one to make any FP+ reservations through her MDE account.

Additional Regular employee benefits include

Twice a year, two "comp" tickets. These are single person park hoppers, but NO blackout dates. (Temp Casual do get these)

40% Friends & Family rate for hotels.

20% off full service food locations up to the number of people allowed on your Maingate (it used to be the whole table, but they changed the wording recently)

Merchandise discounts are not transferable CM, spouse, dependents only. Yes, people "share," but it is grounds for termination if you get caught.

Holiday discount booklet offers additional discounts like one time use discounts for food and merchandise at a deeper discount than normal. And single use discounts for the number of people allowed on your Maingate at Disney Quest, Water Park, mini golf, free popcorn/soda coupons, free photo.

Additional discounts can be for things like the parties (although after all the sellouts this year I can see them cracking down on that), limited to the number of people on your Maingate.

Discount, last minute rates for DCL up to 3 cabins, CM must travel. Also, discounts for Adventures by Disney, but CM must be in the same room.

There is also the silver pass with unlimited admission. That's what my husband gets. It's for full time, but I'm not sure which positions qualify for it. We use our passes and guest passes a lot. We can get FP 7 days in advance without a resort reservation, and 60 days advance with a reservation.

I noticed that, too. You want the horse before the cart, not vice versa.

My sister worked for Disney Animation for years. She got us into the DLR and WDW parks many times. Her room discounts were better than we ever got with a PIN code but not quite up to the Magical exclusive we got for next year's stay at the Poly. When she was with us we got discounts at most restaurants and in all the stores. Those were nice perks.

We are only planning 2 park days at Disney but that alone us $200 each so quite a savings if she could get us in free and we won't die without FP's if we couldn't get them in advance. "Put the cart before the horse" is an idiom meaning you are doing things in the wrong order. As in, you are planning on perks which your DD may or may not receive.

I hope she gets cast at Disney! Being related to a cast member is very exciting. Just be prepared for a lot of block-out days!
