What restaurants are not to be missed in Disneyland. Even if you wanted to pick one from each park and each hotel and Downtown disney. Also do we need to make reservations early for these places??? Thanks for any and all responses!

Our favorites:
DL - Blue Bayou, Carnation Cafe, River Belle Terrace, Hungry Bear Restaurant
DCA - Taste Pilot's Grill, Pacific Wharf Cafe
DL Hotel - Goofy's Kitchen (Character Meal)
DTD - Rainforest Cafe, ESPN Zone

Those are our never-miss spots!!

Make sure you make PS for Blue Bayou, Carnation Cafe, Goofy's Kitchen thru Disney Dining 714-781-3463
Rainforest Cafe has their own # 714-772-0413

Check out the dining thread at the top of the forums. Also I believe there is another thread regarding restaurant favorites.

DL:Carnation Cafe
DCA:Corn Dog Castle
GCH:Napa Rose, Chef's Counter (Chef Sutton is awesome!)
I haven't eaten at the other two hotel's

I largely agree with DizNee Luver's choices!

In DL: Carnation Cafe, Bengal BBQ, River Belle Terrace, Plaza Inn, Blue Ribbon Bakery
In DCA: Wine Country Trattoria, Taste Pilots Grill
In DLH: Goofy's Kitchen (have I shocked anyone with that answer?:lmao: )
In GCH: Storytellers is pretty good as a regular restaurant; not fond of the character meal
In DTD; ESPN Zone, Rainforest Cafe, Naples

I definitely recommend that you make PS's for Carnation (limited seating; usually a wait for a table), Goofy's Kitchen, Rainforest Cafe and ESPN Zone, as those all tend to get very crowded fast. Wine Country Trattoria and Storytellers and Naples take PS's as well, but I have not encountered any long waits at those places. There is always seating available.

I would like to do early entry if possible ( do they still add these to the Disneyland tickets from the Disney site? )if so what days do they have early entry? thanks

:rotfl2: Gee, Sherry, do you like Goofy's Kitchen? I wasn't sure. :rotfl:

Here are some of my favorites:
DL: Riverbelle Terrace, Blue Bayou (but haven't been in a long time), Blue Ribbon Bakery, Bengal BBQ
DCA: Pacific Wharf Cafe
GCH: Storytellers

I agree with everyone's choices so far.

I would DEFINITELY add:

DTD - Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen.....the food is SO good!!!:thumbsup2

Whitewater Snacks at the GCH is a must stop for us. It is so peaceful and quiet and yummy in there. :rotfl:

Bengal BBQ is also a big favorite. I love the Banyan Beef with a veg skewer.

We didn't care for Hungry Bear. The burgers were just so so. I didn't try the funnel cake though. That looked good. And the view is hard to beat. Maybe bringing food somewhere else to sit there would be best.

I've never eaten anywhere in DCA or DTD, but my must-eats for DL are without a doubt Blue Bayou, Cafe Orleans, Bengal BBQ. and River Belle Terrace.

DL Blue Bayou & Carnation Cafe are really good. I also like Rancho Del Zocalo & Pizza Port for counter service

DCA Taste Pilots Grill!!! YUM!

GCH I really liked Storytellers, we had a bowl of soup, salad and pasta, DBF and I shared and it was delish!!!!

DTD we really like Rainforest Cafe, Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen, they are both really good and have huge portions. DBF and I share at RFC too. :)

Gee....you like Goofy's kitchen??? I would've never known....LOL If I had a dollar for every time that you raved about it on here....Well....you know how the rest goes.....!!! :rotfl2:

Carnation Cafe is GREAT for the Loaded Baked Potatoe soup. Just had it yesterday. Was soooo good! Also Oscar is a character. Such a nice guy (chef).

I really enjoyed the BB and the French Market!

Also, make sure you buy some fritters.... I miss them SO much!

sorry, OP, i'm going to kinda hijack this thread a bit....so what places are not to be missed IF YOU HAVE TODDLERS??? for example, i always hear about how great BB is...and i would love to try it someday, but not now - with 2 toddler girls.

i saw someone mention hungry bear, and i do plan on trying that out in may. we've eaten at village haus and tomorrowland terrace - they were good places for my older DD, not great, but good...so does anyone have suggestions on places to eat with toddlers (besides character meals....we already plan to do goofy's and ariel's in may).

TIA!

We took ds to BB, he was under 2 at the time. I was a little concerned since we had never been there and I was worried it would be too "fancy" and not so toddler friendly. We felt completley comfortable and he had a great time. Not a very wide selection of food IMO. DH kept flipping the menu around looking for the rest of the food. :)

Whitewater snacks was yummy, they had an amazing breakfast burrito. Storytellers was just okay. We LOVED Cafe Orleans!! And cannot wait to try Ralph Brennans next month. ;)

Basically the best food within D Land is at the BB. D Land pales in comparison for good food in regards to WDW. The pork chop at the BB is good.

Our family favorite is Plaza Inn for dinner - portions are generous and the food is good - I actually feel like I get my money's worth there. My daughter LOVES the kids pasta meal where she gets to choose her sauce (and I love all the healthy sides it comes with). Now my son grooves on the chicken dinner. He LOVES fried chicken with mashed potatoes/gravy, but even with his growing boy appetite, he can't finish it all. I've tried the chicken and the pot roast - comfort food - it was good. The salad bar is wonderful and the desserts? Beautiful! We always plan at least one dinner at Plaza Inn every trip!

Oh, and our other 'must do' is getting a dole whip as a treat - LOVE those things.
