Cast, me 42 and dd 5 and 1/2. We went to DL last April and had so much fun we had to go back. I planned this trip for three months and an somewhat obsessive about planning, so we were ready (or so I thought)

Arrived at Orange County Airport Friday Jan. 27 before 4, luggage came off the plane real fast, caught the disneyland resort express within 20 minutes, so far so good. Arrived at DLH and checked in after about a 10 min wait, (not bad). We had booked a "standard" room and I had requested either the Marina Tower or the Sierra tower and a "large room" as we actually spend time in the room. At check-in I discover they have upgraded us to a pool view room, 7th floor of the Marina tower. Two queen beds and a couch/day bed, nice room. Requested a coffee pot (it arrived within an hour). Check out our room and off to DL.

Arrive at DL and ride it's a small world (kid's favoriate) people are lining up for the Parade so we do also. Problem was parade stops in front of us and we get Ursula (who scares my kid....) oh well parade was good. After parade we see no line at the tea cups and we are off. A few more rides and kid says she is too tired to wait for the fireworks, so we head back to the room.

As we are walking out of the park my dd announces she has a sore throat,.,.(great....) back in the room I crack open the new kid tyelnol I brought, only to discover instead of the prefered grape it is bubble gum and "gross". Get kid to take med and we go to bed. Wake up middle of the night and kid has a fever,.....great....

Sat. Kid wakes up at 5 (not feeling well) takes med's then perks up and wants to go to the parks. So we make EE at 9. We are first at Dumbo, and get the gold one. Then tea cups and Alice, (get stuck of Alice and they have to escort us off.....) other kid rides, then we go to CA for their opening and on they way to the rides see Flick and Atta, what a treat. So then we ride all the stuff in Bug's land in 1/2 hour. (some twice, if there is no line, they will let you just stay on....) (I counted 13 rides before lunch.,..)
We have the disney visa (mostly for the free stuff like strollers) so we go get pic's at Ariel's Grotto with chip and Dale, then Kid wanted to try GRR this trip so we buy poncho's and walk on GRR. SCARED the kid to death........

Back to DLH for ps at goofy's kit. Get seated quick, but I am not a buffet fan. Problem is, kid doesn't want to get food, afraid she will miss something. Food not great, but characters good, Mad Hatter and Alice very good.

to the room for a nap, kid still not feeling good, but after nap insists on going back. So back to DL. More rides, then the parade again, this time I figure out how to sit so we don't get Ursela....Kid still too tired for fireworks, so back to the room, I am hoping she feels better tomorrow......

Did you get stuck during the 1/28 (Saturday) early morning hour? If so, I saw you! I was waiting in line for Matterhorn and saw a exasperated, but patient, family stuck on Alice. It looked like they were up there for awhile.

I wanted to ride Alice because it is the only Disneyland attraction that I have never tried. After it broke down I did not have the opportunity to head back that way again. Maybe next time.
