Not the norm........

I can only imagine. This whole situation is unbelievable.

Tin Fool hat on... Crazy (Dale Gribble from King of the Hill) conspiracy voice kicked in....

Disney caused this whole thing to give their construction crews all the time they need to get the Florida property ready for 2021 the big 5 Oh. Crowds are keeping the teams from working.... They cannot get everything done on time... You know all those animatronics they have been using for all those years? It's a big secret. They are going to reanimate Walt, Roy and maybe even Frank for the big party! It's going to be great... But I said too much and the mouse is listening you know those big ears and all...

Add in a little Boomhower talking....

(end scene)

Try to laugh in these times. Living in Northern NJ, it's getting sort of surreal. Not in a good way. There is no way to escape it. Some local towns have isolated themselves. There is talk of counties locking down. That action might be more a reality in the coming weeks. The mayor of NYC wants to essentially bring New York to a grinding halt with a quarantine. Even the Governor of New York is not jumping at this yet. Which is crazy since the family and I were just in to see Aladdin not even 2 weeks ago. Times Square was bustling as normal.

Hang on... It's going to be a wild ride.

As Ed's link shows no construction on the entire property, no now working at the Barn or Reflections. Rode down world drive yesterday afternoon from MK to 192, no one working at Star Wars hotel or Swan and Dolphin addition. We only counted 4 cars on World drive on the way out and back to the Fort. There is probably only 75 RV's left in the Fort ,walked the dogs around 10:00 last night and saw no one not even a golf cart. Strange but actually kind of nice it is like having the entire Fort to ourselves.

You have a plan come Friday?

@tiggerdad We do thank you for asking. I think tonight there is between 40 and 50 RV's left and it looked like about half of them were packed up for a tomorrow exit. We are ready for the Friday mass exit, the Fort will be in the rear view mirror by 11:00.

Nice but I'm curious how much of the Fort real estate Mother Nature is going to reclaim. Without human presence, all God's critters and plants are free to roam and lay claim to the habitat they previously owned many decades ago. Yes, all human visitors have been considerate and respectful of the deer, turkeys, etc, who reside at the fort. I'm curious what other species and in what numbers we'll see move in. The longer humans avoid FW, the more likely nature will take it back. Am I wrong here?

No, not wrong but I seriously doubt it will be long enough for much to happen.

I can’t imagine this would go on through the fall, but it has crossed my mind.... dang- it can’t possibly last through our DIS meet, can it? I know no one can definitely answer that at this point - just trying to vent in the one place where I know everyone will understand ❤️

While it is uncertain the length, the reality is the economy cannot sustain if it is very prolonged. At some point businesses will have to start coming back up in order to avoid socioeconomic collapse. Some projections are 2 months while others say 18.

We don't know enough yet to be for sure. Is it possible? Yes. Likely? No.

Time will tell however. We can only wait and see.

A lot depends on how drastic of measures people are willing to take. The more people that keep spreading this around, the worse it will be. "Flattening the curve" will help us maintain a handle on the volume, but may also drag this out a bit longer. China is just now coming out of this with very few new cases. They also resorted to very drastic measures. This started in China in November/December last year. If our experience is similar, figure 4-5 months.

I might be incorrect, but I don't think they went to drastic measures until late January, after they finally notified the world. We took measures much faster, so hopefully we will curb it sooner rather than later and bounce back within a month or more.
And, maybe Disney will actually do more than just offer the normal 20% off rates to boost travel. There will be those that welcome vacations again to get out and about, and those that won't come out of hiding for months afterward.

Me and my house plan on camping through all of this with some hand sanitizer and distancing anyway.
So it seems that 6 weeks is what was needed to flatten the curve when they went to quarantine. PLUS it was in the winter, so will this warm up slow the spread in the next month-?

All I know is that common sense should alway apply: wash your hands, cover your mouth and STAY HOME WHEN SICK, even when we are not in a pandemic. How many flu cases would stop if people would abide by this? I remember working in a daycare where family kept sending their kid there with a fever and we kept sending him home- and I got sick (and quit).

I hope all will learn this important message, when I owned my business, if employees came in sick, I sent them home, sorry, we cant have the whole team down next week.
