OK, I am so befuddled as to what to do.

We are going to Nov 27-Dec 5th...with me, dh, dd#1 and dd#2 for sure. DD#3 will be about 17 mos old and dh doesn't want to take her with us...I do. We can't agree :-(

So...Tuesday I can make all my adr's. We aren't going to be settled on this matter until after our July vacation out west to see how she does, so what should I do when making our adr's on tues? Should I make them for 5 people in case we take her so she'll be accounted for OR, should I just make them for 4 and then bring her along with us if we take her and hope they let us in?

Will it be a problem if I make all the adr's for 5 people, but then we only show up with 4?

Any advice?

Definitely include her in all your reservations. It's no problem to show up with one less than your reservation because people get sick or have other reasons for not showing up all the time. It's harder if you show up with an extra person that isn't on the reservation.

The only exception is for any prepaid meal or dinner show or one that requires a credit card guarantee. You'll need to adjust those reservations to the correct number of people no later than 48 hours before the meal so that you won't be charged for the extra person if your little one doesn't come.

ADRs reserve seats at a table, not plates of food. Unless it is one of the few ADRs where you are required to pay in advance (CRT, HDDR, Dessert Party), always make your ADR for the maximum number of people that might be attending.

This is especially true when the difference is between a party of 4 (which would be seated at a 4-top table) and a party of 5 (which must be seated at a 6-top table). Going from 5 to 6 is usually no big deal because you are already at a 6-top. Going from 4 to 5 could be a huge deal because it's a different table type.

Definitely include her - better to show up with one less person on the reservation than one more.
