Not sure what number to phone to request view at Grand Californian - help please!!

We are staying at the Grand Californian in August using our friends DVC points (they have booked it for us using their points as a 10th anniversary present - yes I know I have the most wonderful best friends!!) Anyway I would like to phone to request a view of Grizzly Peak (they have booked us a theme park view room) plus make sure they have a note of our anniversary. But what number should I phone? I obviously can't phone DVC as it is not our points. Do I phone the Grand Californian directly, although I guess like at WDW the only get guest info a few days before arrival. So do I phone the booking line? If so what is the number for that, I know I have phoned it before but can't locate the number.

I think you need to call GCH directly and ask for guest services. The number is (714) 635-2300. It is true that they block out and assign rooms just a couple days before, but the person helping you can make note of your requests now. I don't think they can guarantee anything, of course, but they seem to try pretty hard to honor requests whenever possible. I booked a standard view but I called up and very politely asked for a free upgrade if at all possible. She explained that she could make a note that I'd asked and they'd try to honor it if they could. We did get an upgrade. It was really nice. Good luck!
