Not sure of what to tell them. Advice please.

My friend and her husband are taking their DD3 for the first time to WDW in May for 2 days. They asked us what is the must do in 2 days. We have been several times to WDW and usually stay for 1 week. I am not sure what to tell her for two days. I plan on telling her to skip MGM and Epcot and concentrate on MK and AK or should I tell her to just do MK. Any suggestions?

My advice would be to just concentrate on MK and then the next vacation, when the child is older and they have more time, try the other parks.

That is probably what I would tell her to do as well. Certainly a two year old would be best suited for MK. I would think either AK or MGM would be the best bet if they want to do more than MK. MGM does have the Playhouse Disney show but I would think AK would be a good option too. Although I really think maybe they should just do MK both days and plan on returning again for a longer visit in the future. Do they realize how big WDW is? Maybe they think it is like Disneyland and can be done in two days. I know my husband has a guy he works with who frequents Disneyland pretty regularly and then they decided to do WDW for 3 days. DH told him to be prepared for a much more spread out set up and told him to find a guidebook and pick his must sees but they wouldn't believe him, telling him that they knew DL so well, they would be fine. They came home and said they were planning a 10 day trip for next year! Maybe this family is just going to get their feet wet and see what its like for later visits. I would also suggest to her they stay onsite for sure, maybe even a monorail resort if they don't mind spending the money.

First of all, I would tell them not to worry about doing everything, obviously that's not really possible. I agree w/sleepy-- focus on MK and plan on doing other parks another trip when there is more time. If they really want to try 2 parks, AK is a good suggestion.

With a 3yo I would suggest MK only. Suggest that they go to Toontown, Fantasyland, and Adventureland for sure. I would suggest Crystal Palace one morning for breakfast. Winnie the Pooh and friends can't be beat for a fun time. Don't forget to tell them about Ariel's Grotto and Pooh's Playful Spot and maybe Tom Sawyer's Island. Also please be sure to suggest that they take a midday break back at the resort. Nothing worse then crabby children and parents at WDW because they are too tired.

My advice would be to spend the first day at MK and then make a decision about whether they want to go back or try AK for day number 2. By that time they'll have a sense of how their daughter responds (e.g. does she love the characters, does she want to do things over and over again?)

The exception for this would be if they are arriving late that first day. I think that being at MK for opening is a must at least one day. Fantasyland at opening is soooo much better than later in the day. In that case I'd definitely do both days at MK.

MK for sure but I would suggest MGM as well. They have Bear in the Big Blue House, Voyage of the Little Mermaid, Great Movie Ride, Muppets, HISTK playground. They can see Power Rangers, Mike W and Sully, Buzz and Woody.

I would skip Epcot and AK (though I love ITTBAB, it can be scary for some 3 yr olds).

I would probabaly tell her to focus on MK! There is too many things to do in 1 day at MK therefor I think two days would be great. That's what i'de do. My little sister4 fell in love with MK on our last trip, she was so dissapointed the next day when we went to Epcot! If I had two days at WDW with a 3 yr old I w0ould definetely do MK!

If they do MK for 2 days, they won't have to rush through, can go back and do favorites, and will probably get to see everything that they want to. There is so much that a 3 yr. old will love and I would focus my time and energy in one location for only 2 days.
