We have about 150 points that we had used to book DLP then canceled, then DL then canceled. They have to be used by October. We are thinking of using them at the Polynesian in August for a few week days. These are not good at DVC locations, but would be good for any other Disney hotel, or any of the other exchanges. Would we do better to try and sell them, giving the limitation above, and pay cash for the hotel, or to just use them at Fla for our stay? While we have been in DVC since 95, never rented out points before. Assuming we try to sell them, what would be the suggested retail price.
Thanks for the help.

According to the points calculator, I would have used 18 points per night to stay at Port Orleans. My reservation, taxes included, came to $145 per night.

Most points seem to go for $10 each - I would have spent $180 per night for the same room!

For this reason, and I encourage you to research yourself, is to use the points yourself on a resort.

If you can still deposit them for an II exchange, you could get 2 studios for a week if you were lucky for 110 points. I could have gotten a Marriott Beachplace Towers (Ft Lauderdale) last year for 55 points.
55 points equals a studio for a week at HH in the off season. You'd still have 40 points to use at WDW too....spruce

Profdsny won't be able to deposit them for an exchange. To do an exchange, MS would have to deposit/give a week from DVC inventory to II and they've probably already released the DVC inventory to CRO based on the reservation for DLP.

I agree with jengen - the best use of those points at this point would be for profdsny to use them himself. I doubt he'd get enough $$ for the points to come out ahead by renting if he can only use them for something in the Disney Collection, The Conceirge Collection or the Adventurer Collection.
