Not So Random October TR! ~Updated 11/12~We're Here!

Well after some gentle prodding from the great DISers on the Random thread on the Community Board, I thought it is my time to start my PTR!

Here are some details:
October 22- November 2. First time onsite, staying at ASMu in a preferred room. 7 day hoppers, finally convinced DH about MNSSHP (28)!! DH’s brother (Shane), his wife (Lorrie) and their kids {Chantel 5 & Jaedyn (2)} will also be at ASMu, but in a family suite. DH’s mom (Linda) will also be there, in an adjoining (we hope) room with us! BIL and MIL will be there from Oct 22-Nov 1. We will be driving down to Minneapolis on the 21st to save us about $1500! Our flight will arrive into MCO around 10 am! BIL and MIL’s flights won’t get in until late afternoon. All of our itineraries are different, with some times coordinating (hopefully!)

Our Main Cast:

Me (Tiff), 30, totally Disney crazy! Grew up going to Disney for at least 3 weeks once a year, usually over Christmas and New Years. Been 15 times to WDW & once to DLP. Had a Disneymoon in 2001. I am a SAHM to DD, and have recently taken up sewing drawing all inspiration from the wonderful DISboutiquers!

DH (Kyle), 30. Been to WDW three times in the past. Is also a huge Disney fan! Recent University grad, and is currently working as a rotating restaurant manager, but actively looking for a new career in his chosen field, HR.

DD (Abby) Will be 5 on this trip (Bday on Sept 5) Loves all things Disney! This will be her 3rd trip to WDW. She will also be pin trading and officially looking for hidden Mickey’s on this trip. She has been looking everywhere for HM’s...lol, at the mall, on TV etc!

Well when I left off last time I promised more detailed plans, so I had better get those to you guys!!

DH really likes Boys 2 Men, and they will be at Epcot for the Eat to the Beat concerts, so we are planning on going when they are there (29 or 30)


As you can see we are not big on TS meals when we are at WDW, we would rather have a quick meal and be in the parks.

I am really looking forward to being in the MK before it opens on the 29th!! I really wanted on ressie this trip to be in the MK super early, just to get a couple of great shots without tons of people!!

We are planning on having DD use the Neverland Club at the Poly this trip, just so we can go out for a nice supper or have a few rides just for us. DD is looking so forward to going!

Now for a bit about the 'some times coordinating'...lol DH's brother(Shane) and his wife (Lorrie) have been a tad bit difficult about this whole experience. They have been extrememly misguided by a TA, and really don't want to listen to what DH and I are telling them. They at one point beleived that the monorail went completely around all Orlando area theme parks, and all you had to do was pull the chain to get off..lol So DH and I planned an evening to come and sit down with them and MIL to explain things to them, well they now understand the monorail thing, and that is pretty much it. They are very stubborn with their plans and ressies. They have said these are our plans, if they jive with you then we will all do something, if not, have a good day. This makes things very tough for MIL, so she has said that she will spend alternating days with each family.

Don't get me wrong I am not saying we should be attached at the hip with them for the vacay, but some more time all together would be nice! But what can you do? I am not going to ruin my trip and the planning over it!!

I hope that fills in some of the blanks so far!!

Hello faithful readers!!!

I have subbed to a code watch thread, and there was major rumors over the past week that there was going to be a general public code released for the fall/holiday season. So sure enough the DIS came through again, and there was a code!!! I got on the phone to WDW this morning, and after about 20 mins I was talking to a great CM! I ended up saving $770.66!!!! We have already paid our original balance, so it would be refunded to our credit card. Now I am not about making things that easy, so what I did was add on the Dining Plan, for just over $100 from our original price!! So all that money we had saved up for our food budget is now free spending!!! Like I said before I am not really into a lot of TS meals, but for this deal, we couldn't really let it go!!

I was going to call BIL and let him know about the code, but the CM said that the code is not available for the family suites, and he will not change to a 'normal' room. So I don't think there would be a point, plus I am sure thier amazing TA will fill them in!!! LOL I am going to call MIL and let her know about it though!!!

Well DH really wants to go to 50's~ he really likes it there! Abby asked for CP. I was thinking about trying something different and unusual, so I had better start exploring or they may not be anything left!!

Well another mini update....I called MIL and she asked me to call Disney and apply the code for her, so I did and she saved just over $400 & added the dining plan!! She is going to call BIL and see if he would change to two standard rooms at the resort instead of the family suites to see how much tha would save them. I really don't think they will change though, they really had their hearts set on the mini kitchen area...but we will see!

Well DH really wants to go to 50's~ he really likes it there! Abby asked for CP. I was thinking about trying something different and unusual, so I had better start exploring or they may not be anything left!!

We are eating at 50's on this trip so I will make sure to take lots of pictures I ate at CP this past November and I think Abby would love it. My absolute favorite restaurant is Liberty Tree Tavern...I highly recommend it
