Not official member yet, but already made vacation plans (on paper) through 5/04

Well, I am not officially a member yet since I have not even received my paperwork in the mail yet, but I have already planned on paper how many points I will need for my next 4 vacations from now through May 2005. Doing this makes me feel like a member already. Yea!!!!!

Terry, pre-planning your point usage is an excellent way to determine how many points to buy. The problem for us was we'd planned on a once a year vacation, well once we started going once a year wasn't enough...so we added on three times. You might want to cushion your purchase with a few extra points.

And after you sign the paperwork - WELCOME HOME!!

Chuck S... thanks for the suggestion. We have been going to WDW with our kids ages 4 and 5 now once a year for the last 3 years. We have decided we love it so much that we will now be going twice a year even though some people thought we were nuts going once a year let alone twice. So we decided to purchase 600 points. Hopefully this will be enough. Thanks again.

That is a great way of deciding how many points to purchase...though if you're like us the trips get longer as they get closer! But points planning already? That truly makes you one of us!

My plans at this point only go up to Sept. 2004.....and we'll be pretty borrowed in at that point (only because we're generous enough to take family along every other trip...that's gonna have to stop! Or we'll have to add on....)

Oh my, 600 points? He he he...if we had that many we'd have no problems at all. I wonder if I could talk dh into a 400 point add on?

Did you read the posts about the difficulty of reselling large point packages? Did you consider breaking that 600 pts into smaller groupings eg. 200x3 or 150x4? I don't think it costs any more for a new DVC purchase through Disney....just a thought for just in case

Princess Tess.... thank you so much for the suggestions. Actually with the help of the wonderful people on this board and all of my annoying questions we did just as you suggested. We decided on the 4 contracts because we have two childern and we can will them evenly then.

If all goes well with paperwork, financing and obtaining a reservation when I call on March 6th, we will be making our first visit home on September 30th. I can't wait! Thanks again.
