Just wondering why? Do DIsers not like this place?

Disney lists this as an "econmoy" or Value resort.
Why? Is it that bad? We usually stay in a moderate.

Doesn't look much different then most of the accomadations on Harbour? I got a great rate for a Deluxe room, apparently newly referbished.
$99.00 a night. And it appears to be right across the street from Disneyland. With WIFI free parking and breakfast.

What am I missing?

HOJO , CCI and Fairfield( favorites here it seems) are $40.00/ $50.00 more a night ( as I have to pay to for a rollaway with them...Ramada is free).

I am just surprised I don't hear more about it. Pictures online look ok???:confused3

Reviews of recent stays would be appreciated!!:thumbsup2

We have stayed there several times and we like it. My wife is a clean freak and she likes it. It also has a continental breakfast (cereal and danish). It is right there at the entrance. For the price, it is a great deal.

We stayed at the Ramada Maingate from 8/4-8/10 and loved it!!! We were in a newly refurbished room, it was clean & the beds were awesome :) The staff was very friendly! The breakfast was basic but good (cereal, toast, pastries, fruit, milk, juice, etc) our stay was quiet & uneventful. We were in a second floor room at the very back of the property and I felt very safe there with just myself & my teenage daughter. We were never afraid in the parking lot even after midnight. It is a short walk to Disneyland (10 minutes tops & we walk slow--I have arthritis in my ankles & hips). The rooms look just like the ones pictured on the website--we even had towel swans on the beds when we arrived ;) Feel free to ask any specific questions and I'll try to answer. We would definately stay here again!

We didn't have any major problems when we stayed here. They did give us a smoking room vs. non smoking but moved us right away. It was clean. We didn't use the pool but it looked nice. Their breakfast was "OK", nothing special. We'd stay here if the rate was right.

My wife and I stayed there (cough/mumble) 25 years ago when it was the Saga motel. This was long before they 'added' on. Worked ok back then. Thinkin about them for our next trip. :cool2:

We stayed here last Sept/October loved it - searcha bit and you will find my review . Recommend it especially the premium rooms:thumbsup2

We stayed here in June 2009. It was decent for being a value resort. Free parking was great. Didn't care for the continental breakfast at all (though usually don't). The internet would have been great but our room was kinda hidden and behind lots of walls so couldn't get. Had to sit outside of the room on the walkway to get it. Very close walking distance like two blocks away. No need to pay for the shuttle service. Not too far a walk from the Anaheim Garden walk either. I would stay again.

We stayed there about 5 years ago and it was pretty gross then. The room was like $80/night.

Hopefully they've cleaned it up and it sounds like maybe they've changed it a bit? I'm not that picky, but I probably would never stay there again based on the last experience.

For that price, I would pay $20 more and stay at the Candy Cane

They had a 1/2 off Sun-Thur deal going a week or two ago, so I was able to get our room for October for an average of $60/night! (we're staying Sat also, so that upped the price a bit). I'm glad to hear that the current reviews were pretty good!

I'm staying there for the first time starting this coming Monday. I have stayed at HoJo's, Carousel, and the Fairfield.

The Ramada gets really good reviews and people love them on Facebook. The renovated rooms look lovely and the pool looks fantastic.

Their prices are really good and I even called to ask question and their GM called me back.

Good customer service so far.....

Thanks for the reviews.:thumbsup2

I have a room booked at both HOJOS and Ramada for now.

I have 6 months to decide, but Ramada is sounding pretty good for $99.(free rollaway/quick bite breakfast.

$25 cheaper a night then HOJOS ($115 and $10 for rollaway)
and $50a night cheaper then CCI.($139 plus $10 for rollaway)
Makes quite a difference on a mutiple night stay, if the resorts aren't really that different. If they were REALLY different in cleanliness, upkeep and amentities I would have no problem paying more. They just all sound so similar . Why pay more?

It appears to be a bit closer to the entrance of the park too.
I have not sayed in hotel with outside access, usually we have the room doors ina corridor inside the hotel. That I'm not to sure about.

This is all new to me, and a bad hotel room can really spoil a vacation!
I am glad to hear the rooms looked like they did online!!
