I love looking at the photos of our very first trip to DLP in 1994 so thought I would share them with you, especially with all the talk on the boards just now about what people miss from the parks.
The Cast:
Mum and Dad - 30-something and 40-something respectively
Me (Lisa) - aged 6
Samantha - aged 1
September 1994, 10 (!!) nights at the Hotel Cheyenne! This was our first family holiday abroad, and my mum and dad saved for ages to take us for 10 whole nights! I still can't believe they went for that long, and there was only one park back then too. Apparently we tried to go to Paris one day but found the French people very rude and the train to be a nightmare with the buggy, so we basically stayed in DLRP (as it was then) for 10 days.
My dad jokes he was going stir crazy by the end, but of course as a 6 year old I felt like we were there forever and loved every second of it!
A bit of streetmosphere at the lake
I look like I'm clinging on for dear life!
My parents can't remember the name of this show, but we all loved it. It featured Sorceror Mickey so was bound to be a hit with me, I was crazy about Fantasia.
Apparently the characters did a few meet and greets inside the castle area. Is it bad I would totally still wear this coat now?!
I was a bit of a wee tomboy and never did the princess dresses (hard to believe now as I'm very girly) but I did love Minnie and always tried to stand like her!
I want to recreate this photo when the three of us go back in three weeks, as this is the first time we've all been at DLP together since 1994!
My mum has always wanted to stay at NBC...we were booked for there this year until I saw that we could upgrade to our favourite HNY for about £20, so I talked her round! I've promised her we will stay there next time though! Oh and I would also definitely still wear this awesome Jungle Book jumper.
I can't believe she dressed us in matching outfits...
Fairy Godmother! Anyone seen her in the parks recently?!
The pink palace
and vintage EuroDisneyland sign
A cool Dumbo float in the parade
A cowboys and indians show I apparently made them go to every day. I used to get up and dance with Chip n Dale (they're still my favourites)
The timelessly beautiful Chateau
Animals at the round up! These aren't still here, are they?
Anyway that's all the photos I have scanned in, hope you guys find them interesting. Can't wait to go back, 3 weeks today!!!
