I'm heading down to the world for a conference next month with colleagues and a few friends. My friends have made some ADRs for all of us at Via Napoli, The Plaza and California Grill, but here's the issue. I am currently on the QSDP and they are not on any DP. I was thinking about upgrading to the regular Dining Plan, but I'm not sure that we can have some people at the table on the plan and others not. Is this doable?

There is no problem having a table with some on the DDP and some not. All you do is tell them who is using DDP TS credits and who isn't, they will split the bill appropriately.

Yep. You should indicate before you order which orders are on the dining plan, so the bill can be split. Dining plan orders are rung up differently from regular orders.

However, Via Napoli will be difficult. You can do it, but they will make sure you are not sharing with anyone else, so just be aware.

good to know, can you use tiw on the person not on the ddp?

Yes. TiW can be used for anyone not on the dining plan and for items not covered by the DDP (e.g. alcohol, apps) for those on the plan. Per the TiW website, the TiW cardholder will have to pay and the card is good for a maximum of 10 people.

I agree with the responses you have gotten so far about having DDP and non-DDP at the same table. No problem at all. Just make sure the server knows ahead of time so bill can be split up appropriately.

But I also noticed in your post that you were "thinking about upgrading to the regular DDP". Is that solely because of the 3 ADRs you mentioned? If so, I would not upgrade. Via Napoli and The Plaza Restaurant are two of the cheapest TS restaurants in WDW. I don't believe it would justify the extra cost you would pay for the upgrade.

However, if anyone in the party is a FL resident, Annual Passholder or DVC Member, I would suggest TIW. The cost is approximately $125 for FL residents and $100 for AP/DVC. It covers up to 10 people in the party, but the TIW cardholder must pay the bill. The discount is 20% on the entire bill (including appetizers and alcoholic beverages, which are not included in the DDP).

Just food for thought. Hope it helps! Enjoy your trip!
