Not an iron on design but I came up with this today

First, I have to say that this shirt is certainly not in the same league as all the wonderful creations designed by the talented ladies here. This is just something I came up with this afternoon since I had a extra t-shirt on hand, some leftover fabric paint, and a little time to doodle around. After I did the shirt, I remembered I had a white visor I bought on clearance at Wal Mart for $1.50 so I decided I'd paint it to match the shirt. So, here is my doodling effort!

I used dimensional fabric paint to jazz up the back a little bit

OK. So I'm reading your post without scrolling down to the picture. I read your description, and I'm thinking there's going to be a basic, kind of amatuer shirt. Then I scroll down. ARE YOU CRAZY!! It's so cool. I wish I could round up a couple things and make something that looked like that! How did you do it?

That is so nice of you to say and I thank you but I definitely don't have the talents you designing ladies have! Yes, I did freehand it...except for tracing the Mickey head. At first, I was going to try to do a faux tie-dye look but I changed horses in midstream and it turned into something else!

Thank you! Sparkle paint was all I had on hand so, when the sun hits that shirt, I may blind everybody! It only took about 2 hours total to do everything....but I'm still finding sparklies in the most unexpected places!

You are so kind...thanks! I'm sure you could make a great shirt with stuff you already have on hand. Just give it a try!

How did I do it? Well, I really wasn't sure what that shirt was going to look like when I started. I traced the Mickey head using one of those plastic plates you get with some kid's meals at Disney. Then, I knew I wanted to make it stand out from the rest of the shirt so I made the areas solid around the head. I used a foam brush for all of the painting and just dipped the end in the paint to do the stroke lines. I made the lines different lengths and widths and just kind of eyeballed where to put them. It's very easy to do...and being a little crazy helps!

I like this better than tie dye because it's more controlled. (I like to be in control ) I wan't to do tie dye for our trip, but they seem so unpredictable of how they may turn out. Did you use sparkly paint or did you add it? I'm maiking the spiral Mickey Head design, and the sparkles would look neat!

I did use sparkle paint to begin with but if you already have spray dye on hand to use for the spiral Mickey head shirt, you can use that and just buy a small bottle of glitter paint that dries clear and brush that on lightly over the dye. That will work just as well as using sparkle paint and will save you from buying more paint. I apologize for not answering sooner but I've been away from the computer for a couple of days.
