Not Allowed to Shop at Costco or mention their name.

if we fired the people at my Toyota dealership who didn't drive Toyotas we'd lose about half of our staff (I'd be safe though :) ) not to mention we have a guy named Ford. It's ridiculous.

if they have you sign an agreement prior to employment, it's perfectly legal

but it wasn't an actual employee with their competitors truck, I believe there was enough to make it appear to be so, but something was in the ad that distinguished it as a mock of the real thing...

I know you were probably kidding but just to let you know, that's not true. I know someone that works for Pepsi and there are no rules for off work hours. They can even eat at a Coke restaurant while in uniform,but it's in their best interests not to order a Coke as their drink. Some of them do boycott Coke all together but that's their own decision.
 

It smacks of Communism - and if any employer EVER tried to reprimand me for something I purchased, ate, or wore outside of the workplace on my OWN time, they would be in court at the speed of lightning..

This is TOTALLY innappropriate behavior and should not be tolerated by anyone!

I work for an insurance company and do not choose to use them for my insurance needs!!! Even with my discount its way more expensive than anywhere else!!! I've been with the company for 19 years!!!
 
I used to be a union member in a school district. They used to send out reminders of which stores were or weren't union. I was never a poster child for pro union, so I just went to the store with the lowest price.

If they happened to be non union, oh well.

Forbidding others to speak of it is over the top.

It's your option to work for that employer and if you signed something agreeing to these conditions when you were hired you'd be out of luck. You wouldn't get anywhere in court.
