Not afraid to dine alone 🍴in WDW. Suggestions please.

Flying Fish is far and away my favorite on-property restaurant for the food, and I’ve eaten there solo several times. The Boardwalk area is very pleasant, and the adjacent Abra Cadada bar is also fun and cool. However, Flying Fish is not cheap so check the prices to see if they suit you.

The choices others have mentioned above are also enjoyable. Another option not mentioned is California Grill. It’s in an iconic location on top of the Contemporary and a great experience; try to time your reservation so as to enjoy the view of the fireworks from the viewing platform. As a single, you probably won’t be seated at a window table, though, because if I recall correctly, those are all four-tops and the two-tops are not directly next to the windows.

Although I ate several years ago at a restaurant in the Monsieur Paul space, which might have been been Bistro de Paris at the time, and was disappointed. However, based on the comments above, the restaurant may have been reimagined and be much better now. Worth some additional checking if that option interests you.
I’m so excited. Thank you for taking the time to respond. So many options!

This is really helpful. I’m on the fence about Ogas because I’ve heard so much . I’m always about giving a place a chance but I’m not willing to spend $20 on a maybe cocktail lol
If you are into SW/loved the cantina scenes, it’s really a must do, at least once.

the cocktails I’ve had there are all decent, just a few bucks more than most of the standard overpriced ones @ WDW.

Any of the three restaurants at Animal Kingdom Lodge are a great choice, great food and drinks.

I ate at Topolino's last month for dinner for the first time, it was a great meal, but way too much food for me, I was sad to have to leave half my entree!

I'm also a big fan of Boathouse, get a reservation near sunset and sit out on the deck. Great seafood and drinks!

My favorite solo meals:
Brunch at grand Floridian cafe
Lunch/dinner at tiffins, nomad lounge, skipper cantina, Hollywood brown derby lounge.
Dinner at Toledo

By far, my favorite place to dine solo is at the bar at Flying Fish. The food is great and the bartenders are just magic. They really create a great atmosphere and I've always had fun chatting with them and other diners. Jiko is another great suggestion, specifically the "cooking place" bar where you can interact with the chefs preparing some appetizers and desserts. You mentioned not wanting to break the bank but if you want to splurge, Capa at the Four Seasons is pretty spectacular (earned a Michelin star this year) and they have a rooftop bar/lounge with small bites, really creative cocktails, and amazing views. Hope you have a great time!

I've dined alone at a number of places at WDW...

Grand Floridian Cafe, Boma, Jiko, Sanaa, Rose & Crown, Tusker House are the first ones coming to mind. I was surprised that a character meal on my own was actually a lot of fun. Still, I think my best solo experience was Jiko. It's definitely not cheap though, so I'd opt for Sanaa if you want a more budget friendly spot for solo dining. While dining at lounges is always a good option for a solo diner, I'm not a fan of the high bar seats at most lounges, so I prefer a traditional table.
