Well that was frustrating. I called to ask about The Alps trip and I was told that the 6/10 trip was waitlisted. The day BEFORE the booking officially begins! I'm assuming that a travel agent had this trip reserved, but why put it on the available dates?? He was also unable to book The Alps trip for 6/21, but didn't know why. Then I was told that he couldn't book a triple for the 6/22 Greece trip. Also didn't know why. He said he would figure things out and call me back in 15 min. That was at 5:30. This is my 4th trip and I've never experienced this kind of frustration with ABD.

That's a nice trip. We did it last year. I noticed that a lot of the trips showed up today with wait list to start. Very odd. We booked a triple today for the 6/22 trip to Greece. They likely just need to confirm that the hotels configurations that they blocked out can accommodate a change. Hope you make it.

I asked about the waitlist thing. It didn't make sense to me either. The booking agent said that those were dates that had been reserved by a large group. It could be a travel agent who can sell that date exclusively or some other group trip. She said they make it a waitlist since they can become available, but you don't know and you don't even have a date that you would know by.

We also booked a triple for Greece today (double and triple). She said there was no triple showing in the system, but that she'd book the kids in a quad until they could straighten it out. So either way, there will be room for 3 of them.

Last year, we booked through Costco (this year too) and we had the same thing with the triple. The rep said she'd find out about the triple and call us back but didn't. We called the next day and the lowest price was sold out already. They had a record of our call (after we got a supervisor) and they honored the lowest price.

We just booked Galapagos on Monday ( prior guest) and I was stunned to see Tuesday night that 1) 3-4 dates were waitlisted alreadyand 2) prices were $200 pp more than I paid. :scared1:
on these boards I've heard people suggest holding out for prices to drop or incentives. I didn't do that because kids free won't work for me with 2 teens in the same room and I don't have time for a " free cruise" during a time we can't travel. We were very restricted on our dates; so I am glad I got what I wanted!
I hope the waitlist works out for you. Call them within 14 days; after that there is a penalty and some may have booked a block and give themselves 2 weeks to sell it, if not, they may release it within the 2 week window!

Sometimes waitlisted doesn't mean anything. Our SWS date this year was listed as waitlisted when they announced the trips last year and stayed that way for 4 months until I called and asked about it. They checked and said it was a mistake and the next day they fixed it on the website. Except it was listed twice on the website, once under SWS Rates & Dates, and once under Holiday Departures. It remained waitlisted on the Holiday Departures page until July when the trip was past. We only had 16 people on our trip. Might have worked out that way anyway, or maybe people thought the date wasn't available and just picked another date. The price on most of the dates went up, but ours remained at the original price until the ened because there were so few people. I'm sure there is a good reason for most of the waitlisted trips, but I if I was interested in one I would call and ask, just in case.

We have traveled to Europe a number of times and it is true a number of hotels have trouble sleeping three to a room. Our family also numbers three and many times a roll away cot had to be rolled into the room and as you know the rooms are not spacious to begin with so it is a tight fit. Maybe the tour is wait listed because DCL has trouble finding tour guides for that date. Hopefully everything will work out. Good Luck
