Had my nose pierced a couple of days ago and was cleaning it so gently but Q-tip snagged it and pulled it right out! :scared1:

I tried putting it right back in but it wouldn't go back in all the way....I can feel the metal through a little on the inside and the stud is not flush with my nostril on the outside but no matter how hard I push it will not go "all the way" through

Of course the one who pierced my nose (yes she is board licensed) is not available today....any recommendations? Should I take it all the way out or leave it and wait until swelling goes down a bit? :confused3

Never had nose pierced but do have many cartilage piercings in my ears. I did lose one of them over a weekend and had a hard time getting it in. I had to go back to the place I had it pierced and they had to use a needle again to put it in. I would clean it( the ring and nose) really good and then try and put it in. If you can't get it in then go as soon as you can back yo where you got it pierced.

My daughter pulled out an ear piercing 3 days after it was pierced. I talked to the lady at the store and she said with new piercings, anywhere, if you can't get it back in within one minute you aren't getting it back in. You will have to go get repierced.

I would not leave it out, I had a friend do that once, and it healed up super fast. It may hurt, but the opening is there somewhere, you may have to wiggle the post around around a bit, but you should eventually find the opening.

What kind of stud is it? Is it a screw, bone, etc? And how much is sticking out on each end?

I've had mine pierced for 10 years and it still closes up a tad when I don't wear it for awhile. Sometimes I have to spin it around and stretch the skin a little, but I'm not sure if that's a good idea if you're still healing.

Also, maybe you can try stick the stud in backwards from inside the nostril if that's where you're having issues. You might be able to poke through.

It is just a straight stud (?) there is nothing on the end. There is enough through that I can feel/see the edge/end of it, the inside of my nose is swollen and sore from me trying to push it all the way through (ouch)

Ah, so I'm guessing it's a bone which will have the stud at the top and then a tiny nub at the end that is a tiny bit thicker than the rest of it. If that's the case, that's probably why you can't get it all the way through. Maybe try letting it calm down a little and then take a clean earring (use rubbing alcohol) that is completely smooth and try to stick that through to stretch it back out.
