She pretended to shoot a rifle from a lookout at Fort Langhorn.

And she took pictures of anything that struck her fancy.

As she enjoyed the sights of Frontierland from the raft on her return journey, Nory determined, If Im ever on a long trip to Disney with kids, Ill bring them here as soon as it opens in the morning, and well spend hours just imagining things. I bet the islands practically deserted at ten AM on a Tuesday in October!

Nory often thought about how wonderful it would be to bring her husband and their future children to Disney World. But for now, she was happy to be there on her own.

NEXT CHAPTER: Constructionland

Great documentation of Tom Sawyer Island Nory! Er, I mean, please tell Nory that that was great documentation of Tom Sawyer Island.

I thought I'd seen most everything on the island, but your photos have me wondering if maybe I'd missed a thing or two. Such a great spot for kids to play and use their imaginations...not just be entertained.

I waited out a storm at that boat dock back in '05. One of those 10-minute gullywashwers, where if I'd taken one step out from under the roof I'd have been soaked to the bone in 2 seconds flat.

Yeah, I thought I'd seen everything there, too, after my last solo trip...but turns out I'd somehow missed the whole Fort Langhorn half! We took my niece there this month, and it was fun, though all the stairs proved a bit much for a 3-year-old. And we kept getting lost, which didn't really matter, but it was kind of weird, being totally lost somewhere in the MK!

I love how Nory explored every nook and cranny of TSI - it gives a different perspective of the place.

I have to agree with Nory in that I have never seen Aunt Polly's open!

Yay on Nory overcoming her fear of dark, enclosed spaces!

What a wonderful picture of the castle at the end :thumbsup2

Nory seems like she had a great time on TSI! Stringbean has never been out there, but now she wants to go visit - looks like there's some fun things she's been missing! Great pics, looks like you can see a lot of fun stuff from TSI! :goodvibes

Not only is Aunt Polly's never open, but in my experience the vending machines there are always out of stock! Making TSI wonderful, unless you really need a beverage!

You should totally check it out...it's really fun!

Isn't Tom Sawyer's Island fabulous? We explored it for the first time this past February and it was wonderful! It was like being in a park within a park too. Soooo much fun to see from afar Frontierland, the castle, BTMR and the HM. Wasn't it hilarious just how short the raft ride is from one side to the other? You barely had time to look around and then you were at the dock.

DH jumped all around on the bridge while we tried walking across it! He laughed while we all screamed and bounced! I think it's a completely hidden nugget at MK.

Nory seems to have enjoyed herself immensely there! And imagine the future little Nory's and Boba Fett's running around there someday! Awww!

Lovely pics! It was like a photo tour.:thumbsup2

I made it over to TSI solo once. I did not explore nearly as much as you did. I must go back when it is cool out and just let myself wander for a few hours.

Nory did a very thorough job at imagining up amazing adventures for her family! I love all the shots of "just stuff" she got too! For some reason the ripples on the water shots really struck MY fancy! Lovely!

I think she's right about it being virtually empty on a Tues AM in October. ;)

That barrel bridge really was unexpectedly fun! I'm totally a TSI convert now...I think I've hopped over there, at least for a bit, on every trip since this one!

I highly recommend it!

Of course, the question is, could I ever actually get there in the morning, knowing all the shorter lines and rides I'd be passing up? Maybe if I were staying for two weeks or so...

He just told me that he *is* excited for our trip in a month...so there's hope. He just needs time to be converted :lmao:

Not like I can talk...at least he's been, which is more than I can say for my DH!

Now he says he'll go with me to WDW once the book is done. Which is something, anyway. Now that will be a fun TR!

WOW! Those are some BEAUTIFUL pictures Nory, they look better than those used in ads. And great job on TSI, it looks like the book is shaping up very well.

TSI is an amazing place, it sure makes your imagination fly... is not until someone remembers the big rides (or the need of some food and drinks) that makes you leave the place.

Thanks, Tribilin! I really love the idea of just sitting on one of those rocking chairs and relaxing at TSI for a while...but I have to admit, I'll probably never be able to ignore those rides (and food and drink) long enough to do it!

Since her fastpass window had opened while she was busy pretending to be a Mark Twain character, Nory took the long route to Tomorrowland, to get another one for Space Mountain.

Construction workers climbed among Pooh's tree as Nory sped past construction wall after construction wall on her through Fantasyland. I cant wait for the new Fantasyland. But isn't there a way they could manage without needing walls on both sides of this walkway at once? Or couldn't they at least put full-sized murals on them, or something? The walls detracted from the environment, there was no denying it.

i-wKvxxhs-L.jpg

Finally she escaped the world of construction for the world of tomorrow. And as she approached the looming white mountain, it came to her. The first item of the prophecy.

A star.

The girl would have to find a star.

Nory had no idea what the star would be used for, or how the girl would find it. But it was an idea, anyway.

Fastpass in hand, Nory left Space Mountain and again walked past the blank walls on her way back to Liberty Square, practically where she'd started from. She always got plenty of exercise on her Disney vacations. As she walked behind the castle, deep in thought, she overheard some characters performing the afternoon show. But she had a late lunch reservation at Liberty Tree Tavern, so there was no longer time to linger.

NEXT CHAPTER: Hear Ye, Hear Ye, Blah Blah Family

I don't know how I missed the Tom Sawyer update, but I did. We have two boys (now 25 and almost 23) and we have NEVER been to Tom Sawyer Island. :confused3 And the pictures you posted are the most I've ever seen of the area; so thank you for sharing.

I am really surprised they don't put something on those construction walls...a hint of what is to come or something related to Fantasyland to take away the "construction" feel.

You should really pop over there one of these days! It's nice, just for something different to do. And while it's nice to really linger, I find it's also possible to float on over, walk a circuit, and float back all in under an hour.

I know, isn't it weird? At least now the Pooh walls are down, so it's much better. And they do have some teasers (ads, really) for the new Fantasyland up along the long back wall. But I dunno, those walls are going to be up for so long, seems like they could've done something with a bit more oomph on 'em!

A star? How entirely intriguing!!

Constructionland! :lmao: How apt! I admit, it was sorta a downer for me too. I'm sure it means great things to come, but while it was up for me too, it did detract.

yep, the thighs always love a trip to Disney. Of course, Lapus more than make up for it in the end. :rotfl2:
