Norwegian Air July-Sept direct flights from Gatwick from £419 to Fort Lauderdale

No flights direct to Orlando but they are offering Gatwick to Fort Lauderdale and there are some excellent prices, even during peak times

Cracking prices and nice to have another airline to choose from... But its just the drive that would be a killer at that time of night if you were going direct to Orlando area after a long flight, also we normally finish our holiday off in Clearwater Beach so we would be looking at a 5 hour drive back to the airport on top of a 10 hour flight back home...

But saying that it is a real budget option that will appeal to lots of people and I wouldn't rule it out for next time..

We did a similar route this year LHR-MIA and then drove up to Orlando. It took over 3 hours to clear customs,collect luggage and then rental car.adding the 4 hour drive to Orlando, we finally reached the hotel around midnight!!! Door to door it worked out at over 24 hours. Return journey was a drive from Port Canaveral to Miami but as it was a late flight home, we went down at a casual pace..

Ah, I remember reading a piece about these guys a few months ago (ok, seemed like it was April, where's the year gone ), very interesting and a very up and coming airline.

Sadly they don't fly on the dates I want to go next year but here's hoping it goes well as more competition, especially direct flights from the UK, to Florida can only be a good thing.
