Do you go down backwards at any point?? Half my family says yes the other half says no....anyone remember?

No, I don't reccollect the ride doing so. There is a small drop but that's just about the only exciting thing on the ride...not really worth your time to be honest...

You DO go backwards- down a small hill and around a corner. Then you go forward again. :) One of my favorite rides!

My memory could definitely be failing me, but I believe it does change directions a couple of times. First when the the big gnome says, "Back! Back!" you go backwards for a little bit (not down a big hill, though). Then it switches to forward again at the point where you can see the ride from the courtyard outside, just before the little drop.

Yes it does go backwards for a brief time. It isn't intense at all(i.e. Expedition Everest). :earsboy:

Yup, you're right. The multi-headed troll sends you backwards. Then, just before you "fall out" of the ride over the courtyard, a big troll winks at you and sends you down the hill foward. :thumbsup2 :sunny:

I also agree it goes backwards.

You do go down backwards for a short period before it turns around again. It's not scary at all.

It's a very small backwards bit and then a forward drop about the size of POC. I'm a ride wimp (was terrified on EE) and found this a lot of fun.

You must do this ride late at night when your the only ones on the ride. Usally this can happen durning the end of a night EMH....so much fun!

I love this ride too. As babywewe said, we got a boat to ourselves when we were on it at about 11:45 PM during the June 1st's EMH. It does go backwards for a short distance after the troll. It seems the backwards part is the part by the polar bears.

I think the intent of the backwards part is to make you think you are going backwards over the big drop. That does not happen however. If you look above the waterfall coming out of the building in the courtyard as you walk up to the ride you can see where the boats change directions.

The ride is cool, but you can tell how tame it is because there is no height requirement. My 2-year-old DD loved it!
