Is Northwest Airlines a participating airline in Magical Express or do I have to get my own luggage and take it to the bus? :confused3

There is a sticky at the top of this forum that shows which airlines are "participating". Northwest is one!! :thumbsup2

Participating has a specific definition as well... anyone flying into MCO can use ME, it's not just the "participating" airlines.

The participating is on the return. Only participating airlines can do the on-site check-in.

For inbound travel, the airline does not matter.

For Resort Airline Check-in (RAC) on the day you fly home, there is a participating airline list. Yes, Northwest is now a RAC participating airline.

So I can check in for my flight at the hotel 24 hours ahead - right? Do I still have to retrieve my own bags when I arrive in Orlando and do I still have to check them in when I depart Orlando?

The best source for official details is this DME FAQ. It's for meeting attendees, but essentially the same information also applies to leisure travelers.

Nobody has to retrieve their own bags when arriving at Orlando Airport, regardless of airline. If you use the yellow tags, you'll say "see ya later" to your bags at your home airport, and you'll say hello to them a few hours after you check in at your Disney resort hotel.

The Resort Airline Check-in desk at your Disney resort hotel is open from 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. You can obtain your boarding passes and check your bags through to your home airport. You can do so from 3 to 12 hours prior to your scheduled flight departure time. Remote Airline Check-in works with American, Continental, jetBlue, Delta (including Song), Northwest, and United (including Ted). Because of the Resort Airline Check-in desk hours, you can't use this service for early morning departures.
