Northwest - Letter of Apology and Bonus Miles!

I had a flight a couple weeks ago MSP-PIT that was delayed over 3 hours. Our scheduled departure was 3:23, we took off at 6:45 (central). The original plane had an air conditioner problem and after about 90 minutes it was decided they could not repair it at the gate and they sent us over to the other side of the airport for another plane that was scheduled to depart at 5:45. We were late out of the gate and sat for about 30 minutes to take off. Finally landed at PIT around 9:15 and we couldn't get into the gate because of a thunderstorm. Finally got home at 11:15.

To my shock, I got a letter of apology from NWA today and was advised that 1,000 bonus miles were deposited into my account! Due to a double miles promotion, I have almost 13,000 miles in 4 trips to MSP this year!

Yhea, I heard alot of horror stories on 6/21 at DTW because of T-Storms. Over 15 flights bound for Detroit were landed in Grand Rapids. The people next to us on our connecting flight to Flint (10:35 PM) had been in planes and airports since 9:00 AM!
