Has anyone here heard of Harry Norman? I found his name on cruise critic and I am looking for transportation from Dover to London after the Baltic. He can do private tours and pick you up at Dover and drop off at your hotel in london. I am a little scared of trying to schlep my luggage with two kids on the train to London. I think the price is about 250 pounds per car, which with a tour included, I think is doable.

We stayed here:

But it was part of a different chain and that was when we went to WDW in 2002 so a long time ago :-(
I did a quick search and noticed a Novotel at Heathrow too, I don't think its right inside the airport like the other but they tend to be nice hotels.
I can't really remember anything to actually do at the airport other than the usual shops and cafes.

Hi,
This is the link I always use for hotels and found all very goo value.
www.holidayextras.co.uk. Click on link for Heathrow and the dates you want. Might be a little early yet but will give you some idea.
Depends on how long you are to be at the hotel and if you have transport and what your likes are. Windsor Castle, Hamptom Court and Kew Gardens are all not too far away.

Blizzard hit here yesterday, no power most of yesterday, have to dig out today,
Interstates are still closed.
Hope ya all are warmer and drier than us. I need a vacation.
For all you people in England - Is there a hotel at Heathrow airport? Is there anything to do at the airport?
Not alot to do at Heathrow but there are alot of hotels within a few miles and shuttles that run frequently. We are staying at the Marriott on Bath Road in June before we fly to DC.

Good Morning Cruisers! As Scott said, we had quite an adventure yesterday - no power from mid morning until 8:30PM. We spend the day preparing for no power overnight - got the camping stove out of the camper in the barn and set it up in the garage, got out extra blankets for the bed, got out candles, filled up the oil in the oil lamps, had the matches out to light candles and oil lamps, found all the flashlights and replaced batteries in those that needed it.
We heated up hot water for hot chocolate on our camp stove, then cooked some soup for dinner on it. We had our books out to read with good flashlights so that we could see. Scott has a crank radio, so we even had tunes! When the power went back on, we ran to flush the toilets and fill up a large water bottle - just in case it went off again. It was an interesting day. Spent this morning clearing out driveway and clearing snow off basement window wells, so that all that snow would not melt into the window wells and flood the basement!
Gydell - we overnighted near Heathrow coming back from the transatlantic cruise - we stayed at a Holiday Inn Express not too far away. All I really remember about Heathrow were really LONG lines!
