I just called DCL and ask about the price of the Park Plaza County Hall hotel. Since it is the cheaper of the 3 if you book yourself I wanted to know the difference in price. If I book it myself(grant you, it's using 2009 dates) the price including all fees and taxes is $803 for 3 nights, 2 adults and 1 child. If I book through DCL, the same room is - are you SITTING???? - $2697! This may include transportation, they didn't know. I will be booking our own rooms!

:scared1: Whoa! Even if it does include the transfers, it wouldn't matter. I'm on my own for sure.

Hi peeps! I'm back from a fah-bu-lous Halloweeny week in the World with my boys! We had the best time AND I got to meet the lovely Monica over a lush Beaches and Cream confection :lovestruc (photos to follow)...

Hope everyone's well and I'll catch up with the thread asap... :thumbsup2

Glad you had a good time. Isn't Monica great? I hope she doesn't leave us for another cruise line(are you reading this Monica?).

Yes, I have seen a few posts that have disturbed me greatly. I hope they stay on our cruise. It is going to be the best by far. :thumbsup2

Welcome back hun. :)

Looking forward to hearing all about it and seeing your pics.

I did some research and I'm thinking of going to a B&B in Dover. I'm hoping to arrive morning of the 9th and stay for 3 days. I;ve never stayed at a B&B and the ones I found here http://www.stayindover.co.uk/hotels.html

For those of you interested in the Renaissance, here are some pictures of our room when we did the London/Paris ABD. The room was beautiful.

Here is our room (big enough for 4 in my opinion.)

Here is a view of the courtyard:

Our room was the second and third circular window from the left

Me too - she's a darling! :lovestruc BUT those DCL prices are looking increasingly high as our £ weakens so I know where she's coming from... :sad2:

How would you know which B&B to choose? Are the prices per person?
The hotel looks very nice!

I looked at a couple, and will probably choose a 4 star. Here is another link. I'm thinking of the Maison Dieu Guest House. It sounds nice. I'm not really sure about the pricing. I'm going to ask for a quote and see. Even at 56 pounds per person, it's still cheaper than London's pricing. I also checked out Trip Advisor, and it got great reviews.

Our price includes: Transportation from the airport to the hotel, hotel to the dock, from the dock to the airport for the return. She thought it included trip insurance.

We will be getting 2 rooms @ the hotel because we have 2 cabins on the ship.

My booker said she was quoted $899/per cabin for one night.

By the way, Welcome back Custard! I'm sorry I'm so new I only know you by
your dis names.

Still seems high to me. Maybe 1 night is ok but 3 nights is unreal!

Welcome back! Glad to hear you had an excellent time. Looking forward to the photos! :upsidedow

You have to realize the FRUSTRATION we went via on the last med cruise. Like Virgil, we had PLANE delay after plane delay. BUT Virgil left the day early whereas, my DB wanted to have office hours up to the day before. :sad2:

Therefore instead of arriving in Barcelona and boarding the ship we overnighted in Philadelphia, flew to Rome then to Palermo where we boarded the ship. We missed 2 days on the ship!!!

THIS time we are flying out the day before so it's worth it for us to be booked in a hotel by Disney and then transported by Disney. :goodvibes

Plus they handle your luggage and you can check in right there at the hotel. It has its pros even at that price.

BUT I know it's an atrocious (?sp) price! So I understand why most don't want to go this way!

Why why why does Disney have to be so expensive! BUT we LOVE it so much!

Sue :)

Just checking in!
Scott, hope you had a super day!
Custard, welcome back!
We are in the group with auntsue, we would rather pay Dis prices and know that they are taking care of everything and its their rep on the line so its worth it to us!

Peter are you on this cruise? I hope so!

Monica, NO! your design is not c*r*a*p!!!! I like how yours is similar to my Med tee and who knows, maybe we will all go to the orient and then I can get that design too!
I will not tolerate you doing that!:lmao: And you made the change I asked you to also!

Is it true that a thread can only go to 250 pages?

Check out the final product in my signature. Do I need to send Gydell the link, or can she just copy it and paste it in the first post? Let me know. Thanks all!

Yep! :lmao: Then we will have to start Part 2!

Maybe we should all place bets on how many threads there will be by June 2010 - I can see it now.....
