Don't cancel, Claire! We have loads of time before making a decision like that!!! Plus I'm sure the rate will recover somewhat - we booked at $1.75/£ and IMO something like $1.6 would be realistic so there's gotta be hope... We're just factoring into the overall cost how much we would spend on flights if the Magic was sailing out of Port Canaveral and that makes it feel more reasonable...

TBH there's no way my DH will ever cancel this trip - he's looking forward to it way too much - bless him...

DH & I have agreed that we will see how much we enjoy our 4 night DCL cruise in September first (this will be our 1st ever cruise) & then decide from there....I'm just hoping that the exchange rate rises as he already thought it was waaaayyyyy to expensive when I booked it. We are also doing a 4 night Sept 09 cruise.........and are also on the edge with cancelling the 2010 Baltic. Our land/sea is Sept 03 to Sept 10th so we will miss you since we are sailing early in Sept.

I am not going to cancel (well not yet anyway!). DH & I have agreed that we will see how much we enjoy our 4 night DCL cruise in September first (this will be our 1st ever cruise) & then decide from there....I'm just hoping that the exchange rate rises as he already thought it was waaaayyyyy to expensive when I booked it. Fingers crossed!!!

DCL cruises aren't cheap that's for sure! I read somewhere that it's because there's no casino to subsidise the prices... In all honesty, I really don't think the exchange rate will get back to where it was when we booked tho'...

For those in UK, hope the exchange rate gets better for you, but not too much better, because if it is bad for you, it is good for us I hope you will not be forced to cancel.

Trying not to think about cancelling doesn't bear thinking about but we haven't done the sums with the exchange rate at the moment to see what the extra damage is. At what point do we loose our deposit if we cancel? Already or closer to the sailing date?

Closer to the sailing date I believe as long as it's not a suite.

I feel for everyone talking about the exchange rate. In August the Cdn dollar was almost at par, now the exchange rate is $1 US costs $1.20 Cdn. Hoping our dollar gets better!

We will be going on 6th July at Baltic Cruise as we felt same as you...

We don't want to cancel it and we wait and see until end of this year... to find out what dollar money... My husband think it won't creep up, just like 8 years ago...:: We save up and hold the pounds until dollar get better rates??

We keep finger cross and hope manage to save up for our cruise...

It is cold here today - 1 degree right now, and it is not light yet, so it might get colder, we got about 6 inches of snow over the weekend, and it looks like it will be on the ground for another day - the wind is not supposed to kick up until tomorrow - then all the snow will be gone - to Nebraska!
