Northern Sights and Mickey's MAGICal Delights-1st Baltic Cruise-June 12,2010-Pt 2

Well I have Margaret's clothes hanging from the shower curtain rod and stacked up on a table ready to go into the suitcase Thursday morning. My stuff is in various locations in my bedroom. I will try and lay everything out on the bed tonight and weed out what I don't need. DH's clothes are all over the extra bedroom. He is a last minute packer. My mom will drive us to O'Hare on Thursday afternoon and we arrive in London very early on Friday. Then we are off on a tour of Windsor and overnight at Alexander House, which I believe is in Sussex.
Can't wait to get on board the Magic and meet all of you in person.
See you soon.

These are the meets as I understand them:

Embarkation day: Kids meet by the Mickey Pool on the starboard side at 3pm for a Mickey Bar to break the ice.
Sea Day 1: (tentative time & place) 2pm
No rain - 7th floor secret sun deck
Rain - Promenade Lounge, Deck 3 near Parrot Cay

Last Sea Day (I think - please correct me if I'm wrong): TBD Secret Mickey meet

See everyone there!!!

Joann

That's sounds interesting -- and not so large that it's a big deal to find a place for it, for those family members of mine who may have a little bit of hoarders syndrome!! :rotfl:

On another note, does anyone know for sure what the cut-off time is to change cruise plans/excursions on the web site? I'm thinking we have till Wed. to make any changes, reconsider what we do or don't want to get locked into (payment wise)!!!

It took 2 years to get here & now it is coming so fast!!! :scared1:

On the DCL web site under planning center I logged on to our reservation and it said 2 days for excursions - I'm pretty sure it is both to make or cancel. SO I agree with you, Wed. is the last day to change our minds.

I have rechecked our airline reservation so many times the past several days - I guess I'm excited! We are flying United Pittsburgh to Duelles (D.C.) to Heathrow on June 10 arriving about 6:30 a.m. Friday, June 11. We are staying at the Park Plaza Westminister. See you all there!

We are waiting at the gate in Cleveland for the flight to Newark where we catch the flight to London.

It was so kewl to hear "bag checked to London" from the ticket agent :cool1:

See you on the ship!

Debbie

Secret Mickey exchange will be on the 2nd last sea day (June 22). Still waiting for a time and place, but my best guess will be diversions at 2:00 pm

We're outta here tomorrow. USair out of Charlotte. Printed the boarding passes and we'll be in London at 7:30 Thursday morning. I picked up more dollar store rain ponchos yesterday as it looks as though it may be damp! Hard to believe it's really going to happen after so much time planning. Safe travels to everyone!

Packing is complete ... Thanks for the reminder about an umbrella!!! Leaving tomorrow morning for Mom's, then leave for the airport at 5 pm!!

We'll be on that flight with you! I'll be wearing a bright blue polo....

Can't wait to meet everybody!

Too funny -- I keep looking at those DCL 'cruise plans' over & over, but still haven't changed a thing. I guess I'm hoping the total price will be different each time I add it up! :rotfl2:

BTW we are at the same hotel on Fri., doing DCL hotel/transfers, but we get there later in the day. Really hoping that we don't just poop out & go to sleep when we get there in the rain!!!!!!

We arrived yesterday about 6:30am non-stop from Houston. We took the tube from Heathrow to our hotel...what an adventure that was and it only took about 2 hours. Of course we were beat when we got to the hotel...no one except DD slept any on the plane. So yesterday was a big nap day and dinner. DD is still sleeping now and it is 10:15am. Plan to fly on the London Eye today and eat dinner at Porters tonight. DH wants to go to Harrods while we are here. Planning to play tomorrow by ear since it is supposed to rain and Stonehenge on Friday. The weather today is beautiful...hoping it stays that way for our time on the London Eye. Taking the train to Dover and should arrive around 1pm. Hope to be on the Magic by 2pm. DH did not want to arrive too early and have to sit around. Safe travels to everyone and see you on Saturday.

Just wanted to say Bon Voyage, Safe Travels & have a Wonderful & Magical time!!

Wish I was going with you & can't wait to hear all about it when you get back.

Hello,

I'm asking this for somebody who's on your cruise.

Do you now how to get from the ferry terminal to the cruiseterminal in Dover.
And if she don't wants to go by taxi.

Thanks

It is 5 minute drive from ferry terminal to cruise terminal so it could be walked but i wouldnt want to do that with luggage etc. A taxi is the best option and they are not to expensive.

She wants to take now cash, so the taxi because a problem.

Finally we are out of here - just have to drop the pets off at the babysitters & we will be on the way to the airport.

24 hrs after we take off from Brisbane we will touch down at Heathrow, think I'll be needing a stiff drink after travelling that far with a 4 yr old (is it OK to drink at 5.30am local time, it'll be afternoon back in Brisbane!!).:rolleyes1

See you all Sat!
Rach

Anyone arriving at Heathrow out of Dulles at about 6:20 am Sat? We have DCL transportation from Heathrow to the port. So excited. :woohoo:Can't wait to meet everyone. Still trying to pack and weight suitcases.

Just finished packing. We leave tomorrow (today) at 2:00 for Chicago, than Chicago to LHR. We were supposed to be direct from BWI to LHR, but BA wasn't having that (sigh). My other half was at BWI today and went up to the American Airlines counter (BA pushed us to them) and they assigned us some great seats. :-)

We've been through quite alot these past few weeks with family "stuff" -- please come find the two guys swigging the Miller Lites somewhere around Quite Cove and say hi. CAN NOT WAIT!!

We are doing the DCL transfer to our hotel (Park Plaza Westminster) then hotel to port Sat. I can't believe we leave tomorrow a.m. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one still finishing FE gifts - oh the world of good intentions! May be getting them a day or two late:rolleyes1 I hope everyone has a safe and fun trip! And the last DIS member out, remember to turn out the lights! See ya on the Magic!
