Northern Sights and Mickey's MAGICal Delights-1st Baltic Cruise-June 12,2010-Pt 2

Welcome new cruisers,

Blizzard conditions continue, wind is at 42 MPH here at home with gusts in the 50's. Even the Malamutes are not wanting to go outside. Interstates are closed, TM and Wii later today, might go out to the barn and work on the Sapo Game. Need to make a Lowes run for stuff to finish it. Stay Safe and Warm.

Merry Christmas all. We are in Australia, so Christmas was seafood, salad, and a play on the beach!

Good Afternoon Cruisers!

Hope everyone had a great holiday!

Welcome to the newcomers!

Still blowing here, malamutes still will not go outside! At least it is slightly warmer but it is counter productive to shovel the drifts out until the wind stops.

Have a great week all!

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday! I haven't been on the DIS in nearly two months, so I'm way behind. Thank goodness Bill has been posting every once in a while so our account stays active.

I took a new job within IBM in early November. It has completely absorbed me, and put me back on airplanes after several years of working from home via internet & phone. I went to corporate HQ in Armonk, NY in December. Group of us took the train to Grand Central Station in New York City to see the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center, which was fun. Looks like my travels will take me to London - and possibly Greenock, Scotland - in January. I qualify for business class under the corporate guideline but I just can't justify the price difference (<$1000 economy vs over $7000 for business class), so I'll be test-driving my new travel blanket and our sleep strategists for the overnight flight to London. The trip also means I have to research which of our credit cards charges the lowest fees on currency exchange a lot sooner than I'd planned!

There were lots of travel-related items under our tree. Pacsafe and Eagle Creek did well on us this holiday season. We are definitely counting the days .. just wish they'd post the shore excursions as that's still "the great unknown" in terms of whether my expense estimate is on target or not.

I've been so busy! I haven't been on the thread much lately......but we talk about the trip all the time! Still haven't made air reservations yet.....only a month to go for the first excursions to show up. Talk to everyone later! Stay warm!

oh, i just love that picture!

This trip is drawing close for sure, Lynn got me Steven Ambrose's book on Pegasus Bridge. I seem to be studying the Normandy area heavly. So much to put in my little pea brain. Debating weither to take a computer or not , prob will not sure which one. Getting maps set for teh GPS will be a post new years project.

I think we have all links of this trip covered, except for the final leg from Dover back to London. Might just go with DCL bus- till I see their fares - then will walk to teh Train station LOL

Just FYI, I posted a link to a site a friend in London told me about for a Ghost Tour that you take on an olf fashioned "Black Bus". Its on the 2010 Baltic thread.

I know that at last count we had 55 cabins but am wondering if we have a breakdown of how many kids, teen boys and girls? Would like to do something different for the 3 kids groups.
And if it hasnt been done yet, I will volunteer to figure it out.:hippie:

I sure hope they loosen up the security restrictions before we fly! I saw on TV today that they are not allowing any entertainment on the seatback screens on international flights. Also, you are not allowed to get out of your seat at all the last hour before landing. That will really make flights to Europe difficult!

I thought that was on US bound flights only.:confused3 I didn't realize they were restricting the seatback entertainment. I thought I saw something about personal players, but not the airplane equipped ones. From what I saw, granted I was still half asleep, they mainly didn't want you to have things on your lap.

It's only the sky maps that have been disabled and it is only over US airspace that you are unable to leave your seats in the last hour of flight. Our aviation authorities haven't imposed the same regulations so flights TO Europe are fine.

Emily - We are planning on coming to Huntsville on Jan 16th and 17th. Let me know if this is good for you. We will be staying Sat night at a hotel so either day is good for us to meet. Lunch or dinner....or both!:lmao:

As far as I know right now we have nothing planned for either of those dates. Where are you staying? I'll talk to Jason about lunch/dinner and let you know.

I'm thinking about the Embassy Suites. Any suggestions?

Happy holidays everyone! Left a week ago to head to Idaho to my parents for Christmas. Had a great time. Played lots of games and made a stop at The Disney Store in the Boise Mall......Only bought one thing though. The guy told me they are going to start changing the stores to be more interactive. We will have to see......

Okay, stay warm everyone!

And where are those darn excursions?
