We are in the home stretch.... Baseball season started, winter might be over (at least here in central NJ), SCUBA diving season starts today (the rock quarry where I go opens today), and best of all les then 30 days till we leave

I am still hoping the ship does not sail full and we can get or purchase a upgrade. As of last night, the ship is not sailing full and has plenty of porthole and balcony cabins.

But the cruise still does not seam real until we get our cruise docs. Vikki already started to layout some of her clothes to pack. I am going to wait will the weekend before. Is is not like we have never been on a cruise before. Heck we can pack for a WDW trip in less then a hour.

The two quarries we go to in our area are still frozen, so no diving there until the thaw. But, we do have the Niagara River and the old Welland Canal (just have to cut the ice)

Hello everyone!

A long time reader of DIS boards and have enjoyed the reviews and trip reports over the years.

We are excited to go on our 7th DCL cruise and joining the inaugural Alaska cruise on 3 May 2011!

We just came off a back-to-back on the Disney Dream at the end of February and enjoyed it thoroughly - great service! great food! BIG improvement from our last Disney Magic 7 nighter in 2009.

Though I have to say that the 3 night portion was super busy in the stores and on the pool deck! If you need to find a quiet area on the Dream, head up front on Deck 13. There is a family area there that hardly anyone uses. Just outside the closed-off concierge only sun deck.

We were originally booked in August for the Alaska cruises, but needed to move things around and took advantage of the kids-sail-free offers for this early Alaska cruise.

Note for those who did not know - if you use an onboard booking for a kids-sail-free cruise, you will lose your 10% discount and any on-board credits previously offered.

Hope to see you all on board in May.

Hello all, we will be on this cruise as well.I know it is here but to confirm I just received a letter from DCL to clarify that all aboard the ship is 4 PM and ship sails promptly at 5 PM. The cruise documents we received were not correct.

Is anyone doing any of the excursion with Disney?

Once I get the guys asleep in the cabin, I can usually be found in the "adult entertainment" unless we have an early morning excursion!

It just dawned on me that we will be on the ship for Mother's Day! May 8 is the earliest it can be.

They had a special cake during the 2007 Transatlantic on Mother's Day. Hope they do something nice this time too.

So much to do, so little time. It is still so cold here that the clothes I am wearing will be just packed for the cruise.

We have arranged for private, deluxe motorcoach to transport DISers (and hoards of luggage) DIRECTLY to the San Pedro cruise port, on the morning of April 27th. We will NOT need to go back to the airport, merely to board another shuttle to the port.

Based upon those staying on (and off) Disney property, Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel (near Disney's Grand California Hotel) seems to be the most convenient location to meet. Those not staying on Disney property should consider utilizing their hotel shuttle service to Disneyland (with luggage, and ask if they can drop you off at Paradise Pier).

Those taking the motorcoach are asked to BE AT PARADISE PIER HOTEL ... COMPLETE WITH YOUR LUGGAGE, AND ALL MEMBERS OF YOUR PARTY by 7:45AM (April 27th). We estimate boarding the MOTORCOACH to begin at 7:45AM, with departure from Paradise Pier at 8:15AM. PLEASE BE ON TIME! If 40 people show up at 8:15AM, we will NOT be able to leave on time. Paradise Pier Hotel has been notified of our "escapade", and will enable DISers to congregate in a section of the lobby with our luggage

If you do not have a reservation, but would like to ride the motorcoach ... seats (AND LUGGAGE SPACE) are available on a *space available* basis. Please contact Steven or Donna (SDLong329) via PM, prior to April 20th. Afterwards, the cost will be $20 per person (cash, exact change requested, at the bus).

FE Guidelines/Rules - here are some guidelines/rules we have discussed:
1) Everyone on the list will give one gift per cabin (if you wish to do more we won't stop you)
2) The cut off for joining the FE is April 3rd to give everyone time to get their gifts together.
3) Cabin upgrades/assignment changes can be made in Promenade Lounge from 2:30 to 3:30. The updated list will then be posted on the door of cabin #5129.
4) All gifts should be delivered by Monday, May 9th to give everyone time to pack all their treasures.

Might fashion one tonight with parachute cord, just handy to keep mittens close if ya take them off to take a pic,

Back in my serious climbing days all my mittens had them, used 1/2 inch tubular webbing.
