North To Alaska--May 3, 2011 on the Disney Wonder

As I well be on the B2b ... I won't be shipping anything, but, if anyone gets more info, please post it here and/or on the Alaskan Cruise Info thread.

We have the Orlando shipping information for Disney ships in Port Canaveral. Shipping information for LA would be nice to have. I am sure I would think of stuff to ship to me / us, as we're doing B2B as well.

Welcome everyone! I have not been on this thread much but hopefully will be able to spend more time here now that the Baltic cruise is done.

I am very excited about visiting San Francisco. I visited there many years ago for work. What I really wanted to do was to rent a car and go to a few places that are a bit away from the port. But this seems to be a challenge because the companies do not have a night drop off and they close relatively early in the day. I really do not want to pay to park the car just because I can't turn it in till the next day. So that will be my research project! I will figure something out.

We made hotel reservations for the Doubletree in San Pedro. Check that off the list!

Now to figure out the air part..... I may post that conundrum on the other thread :thumbsup2

Ok.. so I posted the above on the wrong thread :rotfl2:

So my conundrum for going home is this. I will fly out of Seattle. Between the price and the timing it is the best way.

So the timing is the issue. Because the flights to Cleveland from that area of the country are mostly early morning we need to stay another day. So why not in Seattle! Now how to get there.

First Option - We have looked at the shuttle bus and that would work out well. Drop us off at the airport and get an airport hotel and fly out in the morning. But why waste a day, go into downtown and see the sights. Take a taxi or public transportation into the city. (This is where the next option comes in)

Second Option - Again take the shuttle but get dropped off downtown. Get a hotel there. I would prefer to stay in a hotel close to the "action" :rotfl: and not necessarily where the bus leaves you off. (so need to add in taxi) See the sights and take a taxi or the like in the morning for the flight.

My question (after all that): Is the shuttle bus the best option to get from Vancouver?

We looked at the Amtrak and the timing is not good and we would be spending the day in Vancouver and then take the train to Seattle and not arrive until 10 pm. We still would need to locate a hotel and get to the airport.

Anyone else trying to figure this all out?!?:rolleyes1

Debbie, I think Lynn used fox car rental in ca when visiting her dad, I remember dropping the car off before they opened.

Also today I downloaded maps for this trip, lol

DoubleTree, San Pedro ... looks nice! The views remind me of the San Diego harbor ... stayed on a yacht there in the late 1990's. We'll have to consider the DT! Thanks for the information! :thumbsup2

After smacking myself in the head, I figured out that the roster website had been moved to ROSTER IS HERE.
The old address could be downloaded, but I could not upload any changes.

Verizon is bailing out on us here. That's o.k., I hated them anyway.
Frontier is the new provider and there had been trouble moving personal webspace. Good to go now.

Hey everyone ... I started an Alaskan tips and hints thread here

Some interesting tips have already come up. The whale watching in Juneau sounds really interesting. I know its early, but I would love to get together a group. They haven't opened up their 2011 booking dates yet, but keep it in mind. I will ask again as the dates get closer!

Saw the other thread.. there's some great info! We might be interested in the whale watching thing too... I was thinking the same thing about getting a group together... :lmao: GMTA!! :thumbsup2

Thanks ... I sent them an email. They got back saying they would contact me when the 2010 season calms down. I'll post what I hear!

Good Morning Cruisers!

This thread really needs a bump to the first page!!!!

Have a great day all!

Hey,

What happened to "Grass Skirt, Flannel Shirt" ?? :confused3

Gordy doesn't do long johns, unless they have the flap in back. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Bob

Kilt under the grass skirt with the flannel shirt.

I kind of like the long john idea under the grass skirt, (and of course the flannel shirt!)!
