i felt sick when dh told me last night
but the players are cashing
i think dh said he is getting an 3.5 signing bonus
i think the pats were gonna give the $ but not that much
i think they have done it this year though
they thave finally lost to many to replace
and the first time we lose cuz the new guy misses a field goal
people are gonna turn them, in mob like fashion

I think the sad part is it wasn't just about the money, it was more personal. With all the endorsement deals that he gets here because of his icon status, the two deals would have been comparable as they stood. I think on a personal level he was hurt or a bit offended that he was not offered franchise status or a little more on Patriot's first offer.

I can understand that he felt betrayed and the dealings with management left a bad taste in his mouth but the Colts? That's the rub - they're all ready a good team!

I am really disappointed about this. We are going to miss McGinest too.

Plus, I read in the morning paper that Troy Brown had a meeting with the Jets yesterday...

The only thing that will make me feel better is if we can persuade Clemens to come back, maybe mid-summer. That would be sweet.

It is sad to lose players that we love but the Patriots try to put a price on a position and its value to the team. They were willing to make him the highest paid player at his position, but he wanted more. They are willing to let a player go 2 yrs too early rather than hang on to them 2 yrs too long. Remember what happened to the Celtics when they hung on to Bird,Parrish and McHale too long, they paid them for sentimental reasons and paid the price. Unfortuantly in this day of free agency the players don't stay anywhere for their careers anymore we just cheer for laundry. I will miss Adam, hopefully they pick up a good Kicker or draft one.

P.S. By going indoors Adam is going to prolong his career and make his numbers look great. And then add in the games away from the dome he plays at other indoor stadiums or in nice weather.

But remember you still have the BEST quarterback. No one else compares to Tom Brady. I am a Steelers fan but I lived in MA from 1995 to 2004.

You take Brady off the team and the PATs win nothing. With him you will be a contender every year. If you look over the last two or three years, the only time the PATs lost was when Tom had a bad game. I can't remember a team actually beating the PATs - in my opinion the PATs lost the game.

I agree with you on this, but how were those three Super Bowls won? 3 points - all three games! And Vinatieri is really just the icing on the cake - we've lost so many great players. Ah well, such is the nature of the game - er, I mean business... Should be an interesting season!
