Nook and wi-fi

It says on the website that the Nook has wi-fi anywhere and free access in at&t hotspots. Does that mean that the connection is not free at places that are not at&t or can you go into, McDonald's or anywhere that has a wireless signal and get internet for free as well?

I am talking about the Nook for $149. Does the 3G let you get online ANYWHERE, like if you are riding in the car you can get online even if there isn't a hotspot near by?

I have the 3 g one and I can access it anywhere using the 3g network..I can also use the wireless( at my home or anywhere with free wifi) if I want. not sure about the cheaper one. I would think you would only be able to use the wireless if you have had a hotspot such as wireless at your home or somewhere that had free wifi

I believe they both come with a wireless card, the 3G ones also comes with the 3G network..

I have the one with 3G but my understanding is you can hook up to wireless anywhere that you are allowed. Like I log in at home (and just type in our network password).

I work for B&N. the wi-fi nook will work any where that has wifi. If the wifi is free no problem, but if the wifi requires you to pay you will have to do that. The 3G allows you to access online stuff anywhere.
