I have never planned a trip to DW before and have only been once. It was about 25 years ago, so it doesn't help me much. I got the deluxe dining plan and want to know evryones top three picks for (table service) restraunts. I would also like to know the best place for F-R-E-S-H fish. We are coming from the midwest, so fresh fish in FL is a must do. My ADR window opens on the 19th of Sept as we will be checking in on Dec 19th. Will stay till evening on the 24th.
I already have the following recomendations so you don't need to duplicate them; you could just say the one or two other ones that would complete your list. They are:Breakfast @ the Crystal Palace, Hoop-De-doo Musical Revue, Whispering Canyon Cafe, Tusker House/ Breakfast @ the Tusker House, The Fantasmic Dinner Package (I think Hollywood and Vine would be my first choice for that), Teppan Edo. I also will do something "Princess-y" with my 9 year old daughter. She is by the way very picky; the boys 6 and 12 are not.
What say you?

My top 2 TS:
Citricos
California Grill

I know you asked for 3, but those are my favs. They are both 2 TS credits on the DP though. But soooo worth it!

Neither one of those is a seafood restaurant, but I've had fish at each one before and it was wonderful. Back in April, I had an AMAZING Gulf Shrimp Risotto as an appetizer at Cali Grill. For my entree at Citricos I had a wonderful Halibut fillet, simply seared on top of a Butternut Squash Risotto with a Red Wine Sauce.

I haven't been to either place, but Narcoossee's and Flying Fish cafe are both supposed to be good for seafood.

I also enjoyed Portobello Italian Trattoria back in April. Not sure if they're on the DP though.

Have a wonderful trip!

My first piece of advice would be to really think about whether the Deluxe plan is the right one for you. The Deluxe is a tremendous amount of food and you're going to need to spend all of your time at table-service meals to make the plan financially beneficial. With this being your first trip in a long time I'd go with the Regular plan so you can have a bit more relaxed pace to your trip.

That said, meal choices really depend on what you are looking for...

  • Do you want character meals? If so we love Chef Mickey's and 1900 Park Fare.
  • Do you like buffets? If so, we love Boma at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club.
  • Do you like International foods? If so make sure to check out the World Showcase restaurants in EPCOT. Our favorites are Tutto Italia, San Angel Inn (Mexican) and Restaurant Marrakesh (Morocco). Add Boma to this list as well, although it is at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, not EPCOT.
  • Are you looking for upscale dining? If so, check out Narcoosee's and Citrico's at the Grand Floridian, Jiko at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and the Yachtsman Steak House at the Yacht Club. These all take 2 Table Service credits on the Regular Plan.
  • Do you love table-service breakfast? If so, check out Kona Cafe at the Polynesian and The Grand Floridian Cafe at the Grand Floridian.

Our must-do's for each trip are The Plaza in the Magic Kingdom, Boma at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, at least one World Showcase restaurant (usually more) and Wolfgang Puck Cafe at Downtown Disney (among the 3 best meals we've ever had at WDW!).

I would also recommend looking into The Wave at the Contemporary. It gets glowing reviews and the food looks wonderful. We'll be trying it on our next trip and I can't wait!

Have fun planning, and have a great trip!

I would suggest the Flying Fish on the Broardwalk for fresh fish. I believe they are on the dining plan. Also your daughter may like Akershus a princess dining experience at a 1ticket meal. We like Chefs De France and Tutta Italia.

We also enjoy Coral Reef. Eating with the fishes is fantastic. Our children have enjoyed the food and the sight of the fishes swimming by as they were eating.

We have also enjoy the Crystal Place at MK. Also Mama Melrose in DHS. AK Tusker House has a breakfast character buffet and they have a special lunch that you can do and get priority seating for the "Finding Nemo" show (a must see)

Le Cellier ( I know it's hyped, but gosh we love it!)
Narcoossee's
1900 Park Fare breakfast (not dinner, YUK)

Close in the running: Raglan Road

If you don't mind me asking, where are you staying? That sometimes helps narrow down recommendations. As a prior poster mentioned, the Deluxe plan means a whole lotta eattin' and planning vacation time around going to and coming from meals. Some of the resorts have great restaurants already there (Grand Floridian, AKL, Boardwalk area) which might be good choices to save you travel time.

My personal favorite three would be
- Jiko at the AKL - Worth every TS credit. A must do
- Raglan Road at DTD -- Great variety of food you're not going to find at most restaurants, great Irish pub atmosphere and music
- The Plaza at MK -- nothing but salads, sandwiches, burgers and shakes but a great relaxing and fun lunch at MK

We ate at the garden grill in May, Im not a seafood lover but my sister is and she loved the catfish there, in fact she said it was the best that she has ever tasted! The garden grill is one of the dining reservations we have made for each trip so far and including it on future trips for sure! Also has great character interaction, won t go wrong by booking this one!:cool1:

Let's see...Your choices already seem pretty good....

I would add the following as some of my favorites:

50's Prime Time
Beaches and Cream
1900 Park Fare character breakfast

I can't help you with the fresh fish. We also do the deluxe plan and we love it. Our favorite TS meals are:

Ohana
Yachtsman Steak House
50's Prime Time Cafe
Chef Mickey
Crystal Palace breakfast (actually the best breakfast is Tusker House!)
Marakesh
For "princessy" I would try 1900 Park Fare. It is Cinderella and the step sisters, but it is a buffet so there will be a variety of things. I hear the princess interaction is better at Askerhaus, but the menu doesn't look like it would appeal to picky eaters. I've never eaten there so I won't say for sure.

For your daughter I would do Akershus for breakfast. There is a variety of breakfast foods that even the pickiest of people I know would love. (I know some seriously picky people.) You'll see about 5 or 6 princesses and get a picture with one of them included with your meal. It comes in a nice folder in a couple of different frame sizes.

My favorite is Boma, the African buffet at Animal Kingdom Lodge. AKL is worth visiting on it's own to roam the grounds and see the animals. Plus, the food is AMAZING!!! There's a kid's bar for the picky eaters. Although, again some of the pickiest people I know ate there with me in July and they enjoyed their meal.

Have a great trip!:thumbsup2

Ohana at the Polynesian.

We have three reservations at Ohana on our next trip alone. My boys are just crazy about all that meat on skewers!

And the dessert is absolutely delish. :thumbsup2

Congratulations on your upcoming trip! I know the planning can seem overwhelming at times, but you guys will have so much fun! Personally, we love the Deluxe plan and wouldn't think of going without it. It can be too much food/time if you are planning three meals a day, but we plan for an early lunch/late breakfast and a 2TS dinner and it is perfect! Plus you get to eat at some amazing restaurants! So, some of my favorite restaurants are:

California Grill- great sushi!
Jiko- amazing meal
Narcosee- good seafood

And for a princess meal, how about trying CRT if you can get it? We haven't been there, but I'm sure the kids would love eating in the castle. And since you have all the credits, you won't feel like you're giving up too much.

Enjoy your trip:banana::banana:

I agree with all the choices but the BEST choices would be CRT for breakfast, or park fair. Your daughter will love it. The boys would like t-rex and/or wc or ohana, You would really love lecellier or cooks for just good food. Biergarten is set in a German village and has entertainment. Kids are invited to come and dance in front of the stage and my neices and nephew absolutely loved it last Christmas. They are next to a Christmas tree and receive a Christmas present. The food is super and they have some things picky people (like our 11y/o Caitlin liked. Some of us loved the beer as well

I am staying at the Pop. My agent says they have a great food court there. I know thats not TS but I may be doing lunch as TS or QS with breakfast and dinner as TS. Or some variation of 2 TS and one QS. Some days may just be a two large meal day so we can do some 2 credit TS places. You are right, it does seem to be a rush to get from here to there as well as the time involved. I will be planning to get ressies at parks we will be spending the day at to minimize travel. My agent said the same thing about the food---there is a LOT of it!
